Ovr Pick Franchise Selection Pos. Team Age Exp.
1 1.09 KFFL.com Darren McFadden RB DAL 27 4
I expect DMC to be a top-five fantasy back if he can remain healthy ... he has to do it at least once in his career, right? I'm pleased to get him here and considered no one else with this pick.
2 2.04 KFFL.com Wes Welker WR --- 33 8
I felt that I had to pick the safest wideout after choosing McFadden with my first selection. Welker will be playing for a big-money deal and shouldn't disappoint. I'm expecting nearly 100 grabs for 1,250 yards and around eight scores.
3 3.09 KFFL.com Brandon Marshall WR NYJ 31 6
Paired with Welker, Marshall gives me two wideouts with the potential to each snare 100 receptions this season. I am excited for his reunion with Jay Cutler in what should be a more respectable, less gimmicky offensive approach that what Marshall had dealt with while in Miami.
4 4.04 KFFL.com Vincent Jackson WR TB 32 7
I love me some V-Jax this year. Josh Freeman will rely heavily on him, and this offense should utilize Jackson's downfield presence as well as San Diego's did. Tampa Bay plays in a division that knows how to score points, and none of these teams are exactly defensive stalwarts against the pass.
5 5.09 KFFL.com Frank Gore RB IND 31 7
I was really hoping Roy Helu would make it back to me, so now I'm stuck deciding between a lot of less-than-appealing options. Part of me feels like I am making a mistake drafting Gore, yet I come back to how he was given a large contract just a few short years ago. Brandon Jacobs isn't much of a factor in my eyes, and LaMichael James is so close to what Kendall Hunter is that I can't help but feel like Gore will have one final year of substantial carries.
6 6.04 KFFL.com Willis McGahee RB --- 33 9
I am passing up several other running backs that I would be happy with in favor of taking a chance on McGahee excelling because of the Peyton Manning factor. Double-digit touchdowns and at least 1,100 yards are in the cards if all goes well. If not, he should still be a serviceable third back.
7 7.09 KFFL.com Matt Schaub QB --- 33 8
In two full seasons with the Texans, Schaub passed for at least 4,300 yards and 24 touchdowns. At this stage of the draft, I'll accept similar numbers after building the core of my team to this point.
8 8.04 KFFL.com Jason Witten TE DAL 32 9
I was quite surprised to see Witten available at this point. PPR scoring makes him a steal, especially since the Cowboys don't have a bona fide No. 3 receiver to steal some looks.
9 9.09 KFFL.com Daniel Thomas RB --- 27 1
Thomas intrigues me this season. Reggie Bush probably enjoyed a career year in 2011, and Lamar Miller may be more of a slot receiver than RB in the NFL. Thomas may not belong to this coaching staff, but he does belong to Jeff Ireland and is only in his second year. A healthy start to the season should do wonders for Thomas. Last year, his confidence was shot, and the injuries robbed him of his speed.
10 10.04 KFFL.com Greg Little WR --- 25 1
Brandon Weeden should make Little an improve commodity for fantasy purposes. The rookie's strong arm and maturity are his best attributes. Little's rookie season was rather impressive if you consider that he did not play football in 2010 and had no offseason to acclimate himself to the NFL. He may not have a true breakout season in 2012, but a few more trips to the end zone should be in store.
11 11.09 KFFL.com Isaiah Pead RB --- 25 R
After Hillman went Pead became my target. Steven Jackson is almost always missing time with some various ailment, and there is no doubt that the team is high on Pead. He should be a valuable PPR asset from an offense starved for playmakers.
12 12.04 KFFL.com Matt Flynn QB GB 29 4
I'm not a believer in Flynn as a breakout quarterback. I am not even sure if I believe he will win the job, but he presents the best backup for me since I waited too long. I never though Josh Freeman would go as someone's third quarterback, although it was my mistake for waiting. I like Joe Flacco better, and even, to a degree, Ryan Fitzpatrick, but Matt Schaub's Week 8 bye limits my choices.
13 13.09 KFFL.com Lance Kendricks TE STL 27 1
I rarely draft a No. 2 tight end in such a shallow format, but the best-ball design makes it a must. Kendricks could be the heart and soul of the Rams' passing game in 2012. St. Louis has little to speak of at wide receiver, at least when it comes to proven players, so the young tight end should be the focal point when Sam Bradford is trying to get out of sticky situations.
14 14.04 KFFL.com Danny Amendola WR NE 29 4
Amendola could be a key factor in the Rams' passing game and is the only receiver Sam Bradford has shown to have chemistry with. I don't expect a lot from him, but he is worth a flier at this stage of the draft. I considered similar players like Eddie Royal, Austin Collie and Golden Tate.
15 15.09 KFFL.com New York Def NYG
I probably should have taken Green Bay last time around, but I feel NYG makes for a respectable consolation prize. They have an aggressive DC and plenty of pass rush.
16 16.04 KFFL.com Taiwan Jones CB OAK 26 1
I think Taiwan Jones has the most upside of any back behind McFadden, and being an owner of DMC, I could do worse than cover my bases with this speedster.
17 17.09 KFFL.com Chad Johnson WR --- 37 11
At this stage of the draft, there is little risk in taking a chance on a bounce-back year from Ochocinco.
18 18.04 KFFL.com San Diego Def SD
19 19.09 KFFL.com Matt Cassel QB BUF 32 7
I needed another quarterback, and while Cassel is nothing special at all, he may be the safest of all remaining options. With Matt Schaub and Matt Flynn, I needed as much stability as possible. Also, the QB Matt trifecta has been completed!
20 20.04 KFFL.com Connor Barth PK DEN 28 4
