Ovr Pick Franchise Selection Pos. Team Age Exp.
1 1.06 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Arian Foster RB HOU 28 3
I love the mid round picks in round 1. You just take one of the top Rbs that fall to you and I was happy to have Foster slide to me. Many are predicting the demise of Foster. I am not one of them. I still have him as the #2 back on my board.
2 2.07 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Steven Jackson RB --- 31 8
Some are skeptical about what Jackson will do now that he has turned 30, but he has moved into the perfect position. From Week 10 on last season he was the #6 back in PPR scoring. Now he lands in a much better situation and should see increased receptions as well as more chances to score. He has every chance to finish as a top 10 back in 2013.
3 3.06 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Reggie Bush RB SF 30 6
Definitely looking to go RB-heavy to start my drafts this season, something I was very much against last year. With Foster and Jackson already on the roster I was happy to get Bush here. Bush has every chance to catch 70 balls in this offense and I love getting him as my RB3.
4 4.07 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Marques Colston WR NO 31 6
With 3 RBs on my squad it was time to turn to the WRs. Colston didn't finish as a top 12 WR in 2012, but the return of Sean Payton to play calling duties should make this offense even more potent again. With a strong RB start I feel comfortable with Colston as my #1 WR.
5 5.06 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Tony Gonzalez TE --- 39 15
I was all set to go with my WR2 here but when Gonzo fell into my lap I had to grab him. He finished as the #2 TE in PPR scoring in 2012 and with all the drama around Gronkowski and Hernandez he was a no-brainer pick here. Even at 37 years old he continues to produce as an extremely high level.
6 6.07 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Steve Smith WR BAL 35 11
Steve Smith continues to be the forgotten man in fantasy but he makes a solid #2 receiver at this point in the draft. If Cam continues to play in 2013 the way he finished 2012 then Smith could even see an uptick in points this year. I would've taken Smith over several of the receivers taken before him.
7 7.06 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Mike Williams WR --- 27 2
Was hoping James Jones would continue to fall, but after he got taken I went to my #2 choice in Williams. He, like Steve Smith, continue to get no respect in the fantasy community and I am not sure why. He finished 2012 as the 18th best WR yet he came off the board here as the 26th WR taken. Love that value.
8 8.07 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Tony Romo QB DAL 34 9
This is definitely the year to wait on QB, whether others want to buy into the strategy or not. Some still feel the need to jump on QBs early, but when you can get a QB who finished 8th in 2012 in the middle of the 8th round, it is pure value. Let others jump on the big names early, stay the course, build up your other skill positions then grab a starting QB late and your team will be much stronger for it.
9 9.06 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Andre Brown RB --- 28 3
David Wilson looks to be the #1 in NY but he still needs to show he can protect the QB, if he falters at all then Brown becomes a very nice selection, but even if not, he should still see plenty of chances, especially at the goal line. He did average over 5 yards a carry and had 8 touchdowns in just 73 attempts in 2012.
10 10.07 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Danny Woodhead RB SD 30 4
Woodhead is one of the RBs I am targeting late in most of my drafts. He landed in a good situation in San Diego. Playing behind oft-injured Ryan Mathews is never a bad thing, but the fact is that he does many things better than Mathews. He is a much better pass protector, catches the ball better and is much more durable. It will not surprise me at all if Woodhead actually starts 5 or so games, but even with Mathews starting Woodhead will be on the field for almost all 3rd downs.
11 11.06 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Brandon Myers TE TB 29 3
While I don't expect Myers to replicate his 2012 season, mostly because of the increased level of talent surrounding him in NY. Even with that talent around him though, Eli has always made the TE a decent part of his offense and Myers gives them another threat. Love getting him this late as my TE2.
12 12.07 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Darrius Heyward-Bey WR PIT 28 3
As most know I was very high on DHB last year and while that didn't come to fruition, he is now in a better situation. With Luck at QB and good weapons around him he will not see the top CBs covering him as often and should allow him to make big plays in the offense. I actually like him more than TY Hilton this year and was able to get DHB much later.
13 13.06 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Carson Palmer QB ARI 35 9
I love Palmer as a high upside QB2 this year. Not only is he working with a much better receiver corps, but he is also joined with Coach Bruce Arians. Arians will allow him to stretch the field with his long arm and having Larry Fitzgerald to throw to certainly does not hurt his value. if Michael Floyd continues to improve, as he did in the tail end of 2012, then Palmer could flirt with top 12 status. He was a top 12 QB in the 1st 14 weeks of 2012.
14 14.07 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Keenan Allen WR SD 22 -1
Allen is a pure upside pick here. Love his talent and Rivers continues to look for another receiver he can count on. I think Allen might be that guy even in his rookie season. I like his upside as my WR5.Hopefully he will stop wearing Raiders hats...
15 15.06 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Latavius Murray RB OAK 24 -1
At this point in the draft upside is key, and Murray is another I think has some upside. He is a big back who runs very well. He ran a 4.38 40 at his pro day. With McFadden in front of him he should get some chances to play since McFadden can't stay on the field for a full season.
16 16.07 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Rod Streater WR OAK 27 R
While I do not expect a ton from the Oakland offense this year, especially if Matt Flynn wins the starting QB job, I find it funny that I took 2 Raiders in a row. That being said Streater played much better than most expected last year and now with DHB gone he may even get more chances in 2013. Since I expect Oakland to be behind most games, garbage time will once again be the key phrase when it comes to Streater.
17 17.06 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Cordarrelle Patterson WR MIN 24 -1
With such a deep roster I was surprised to find Patterson still available this late. He is still a very raw receiver but with Percy Harvin gone and Greg Jennings not as good as he once was, Patterson should have several big games and could ultimately surprise everyone with his playmaking ability.
18 18.07 Fantasytaz - Jim Day DuJuan Harris RB MIN 26 1
Most people are arguing over rookies Eddie Lacy and Jonathan Franklin as to who will lead the team in rushing. While I like Lacy a little more the fact remains that it will come down to which one can protect the QB better. In the long run that may be Harris, which might make a huge steal in this draft. Or maybe not, but no risk here in the 18th round.
19 19.06 Fantasytaz - Jim Day Phil Dawson PK SF 40 14
With only 2 rounds left it was time to get my kicker and defense. Love Dawson this year with SF. He has always been one of the more accurate kickers and now he is playing with an offense that will score more often. I have him as a top-5 kicker, for what that's worth.
20 20.07 Fantasytaz - Jim Day St. Louis Def STL
