2013 FFToolbox Expert Mock Draft #2

Draft took place July 2nd 2013

Scoring System: PPR, 12 team
Using FFWC Rules

Ovr Pick Franchise Selection Pos. Team Age Exp.
151 13.07 The Huddle Joseph Randle RB DAL 22 -1
With Bill Callahan calling the plays the Cowboys might actually run the ball more this year. And since the talented DeMarco Murray can't seem to stay healthy, housing the backup plan makes sense.
152 13.08 Draft TV Dwayne Allen TE IND 24 R
Allen is my darling TE2 this year. Better than Coby Fleener last year, graded highly on PFF, should only develop from here
153 13.09 KFFL Kendall Hunter RB SF 26 1
154 13.10 Fantasy Football QB Christine Michael RB SEA 23 -1
Going back to why I passed on Lynch in the 1st: if Lynch gets suspended, Michael could start 2 games; therefore giving him even more value than just as a quality handcuff. This situation puts him on top of my "handcuffs to steal" list. Fantasy seasons are short in high stakes leagues, so in this stage of the draft I'll prioritize a guy who could give me a bonus option for 2 weeks.
155 13.11 BFD Fantasy Josh Freeman QB FA 26 3
156 13.12 KFFSC Shonn Greene RB TEN 29 3
Ever have a player that's always on your roster each year even though you don't plan on it? Shonn Greene is that player for me. If I was in the movie Inception and I could check my roster to see if Shonn Greene was listed. If he was I'd know I was in the real world and not a dream. End of the 13th rd and I get Chris Johnson's back up. A talented back who's been a solid RB2 before. And he could vulture a few TDs.
157 14.01 KFFSC Brian Quick WR STL 25 R
I'm fine taking this gamble in the 14th. Amendola is gone, Cook has been added at TE, and they drafted some guy from West Virginia. The only things that stay the same in St. Louis are the changes. Quick is talented and has good rapport with Bradford. That may not translate to on the field success, but the WR position is hard to predict for the Rams. Quick could breakout. Or not. But I like the potential this 14th pick has.
158 14.02 BFD Fantasy Philip Rivers QB SD 32 8
159 14.03 Fantasy Football QB Stephen Hill WR FA 23 R
2nd year big play receiver (yet so inconsistent) on a team that will likely play from behind this year. It's interesting to see how far Jets receivers fall in the draft. It's not like Jacksonville has a much better situation at QB, but I guess no butt-fumble helps fantasy value.
160 14.04 KFFL Andy Dalton QB CIN 27 1
161 14.05 Draft TV LaMichael James RB FA 25 R
Just too much value for me with Lamichael James. I don't love him, but I have Frank Gore and feel James is the handcuff. Fine end of the bench player for a PPR league
162 14.06 The Huddle Brandon LaFell WR NE 27 2
LaFell was solid last season, and with tight end whisperer Rob Chudzinski no longer calling plays in Carolina I expect Greg Olsen's numbers to dwindle. Steve Smith is already maxed out, which means LaFell's production should be even better in 2013--enough to make him a decent weekly flex option in this format.
163 14.07 World Ranked Player #26 San Francisco Def SF
164 14.08 Fantasy Sharks Mike Goodson RB FA 27 3
165 14.09 Zach Law on Sports Joique Bell RB DET 28 2
166 14.10 Gridiron Experts Terrance Williams WR DAL 25 -1
I've been targeting Williams a lot in most of my drafts. The third receiver spot has led to some breakout players in the past for Dallas (Miles Austin comes to mind) and there are reports that Williams could even supplant Austin as the second receiver for The Cowboys. I don't think he'll begin the season that way, but I do like the former Baylor product as a deep sleeper this year.
167 14.11 Scout PRO Robert Woods WR BUF 22 -1
168 14.12 FFToolbox Sam Bradford QB STL 26 2
Love Bradford as my QB2. I'm scooping him everywhere. With an unproven run game, against very tough run defenses in the NFC West, Bradford will be shootout city in 4th quarters all season long.
169 15.01 FFToolbox Andre Roberts WR WAS 26 2
Carson Palmer ensures that Roberts will be a quality flex option when bye week needs come around. I think next year, Roberts is a WR2 for somebody. Maybe the Jets come calling.
170 15.02 Scout PRO Marcel Reece RB OAK 29 4
171 15.03 Gridiron Experts Rod Streater WR OAK 26 R
As of right now, I have Streater penciled in as a starter for the Raiders. Considering how late in this draft it is, I'll take a starting wide-out over a back-up runner or third tight end.
172 15.04 Zach Law on Sports Ben Roethlisberger QB PIT 32 8
173 15.05 Fantasy Sharks Davone Bess WR FA 29 4
174 15.06 World Ranked Player #26 Coby Fleener TE IND 26 R
Solid backup TE who has talent and is healthy this year.
175 15.07 The Huddle Marcedes Lewis TE JAX 30 6
I spent this draft watching tight ends plucked from my grasp; why should Round 15 be any different? Coby Fleener would have been the upside guy, but he just got picked. Instead, I'll settle for Lewis and hope that he can step up his game with Justin Blackmon out and finally deliver on that obscene contract the Jags gave him a couple years back.
176 15.08 Draft TV A.J. Jenkins WR KC 23 R
Someone has to be the WR2 with Crabtree out right? What if Jenkins develops? I'll take my shot
177 15.09 KFFL Dustin Keller TE FA 30 4
178 15.10 Fantasy Football QB Marvin Jones WR CIN 24 R
There's a lot of Marvin Jones that I think remains to be seen. The Bengals are quietly building one heck of an offensive weaponry around Dalton.
179 15.11 BFD Fantasy Malcom Floyd WR SD 33 8
180 15.12 KFFSC Jay Cutler QB CHI 31 6
I'm pro-Cutler. I'll just get that out of the way. The pass friendly offense, a new TE in Martellus Bennett, Brandon Marshall, Forte, improved offensive line, etc. Cutler has all the tools he needs to be successful. He's a good choice for a backup to RG3 and I can start Cutler and feel confident if RG3 is injured.
181 16.01 KFFSC Jacoby Jones WR BAL 30 5
Jacoby Jones made some big plays last season. He was also in the right place at the right time for some other plays. Either way Boldin has left town and Flacco isn't going to be throwing the ball any less. Jacoby Jones could really step up for Baltimore, but if he doesn't I think it will be because the Ravens throw more passes to both TEs.
182 16.02 BFD Fantasy Jon Baldwin WR FA 25 1
183 16.03 Fantasy Football QB Knowshon Moreno RB MIA 27 3
Moreno took several teams to a fantasy championship last year, but even with the Ball/Hillman situation he could easily take on a bigger role if any of the youngster allow Manning to get whacked. In terms of fantasy, he's a cheap handcuff on a offensive powerhouse.
184 16.04 KFFL Ryan Tannehill QB MIA 26 R
185 16.05 Draft TV Latavius Murray RB OAK 23 -1
Pure lottery ticket. If Darren McFadden goes down (and Rashad Jennings who is not new to the injury bug,) Murray has the talent to produce. Could he end up like Alfred Morris?
186 16.06 The Huddle Mike Gillislee RB MIA 23 -1
There wasn't much on the board that interested me; maybe Latavius Murray, who went the pick before, but there's no clear-cut line of succession in Oakland. I'm not sold on the Lamar Miller hype and Daniel Thomas hasn't done much, either, so another RB depth dart at the talented Gillislee could wind up paying dividends down the road.
187 16.07 World Ranked Player #26 Golden Tate WR DET 26 2
WR depth pick with potential if Harvin goes down or gets all the attention.
188 16.08 Fantasy Sharks Matt Schaub QB OAK 33 8
189 16.09 Zach Law on Sports Denard Robinson RB JAX 24 -1
190 16.10 Gridiron Experts Jonathan Dwyer RB ARI 25 2
Not much left out there, so I'm just taking a back-up running back that might play a little on third downs or put up a decent game or two should he become the starter. Dwyer has very limited upside, even as a starter.
191 16.11 Scout PRO Jeremy Kerley WR NYJ 25 1
192 16.12 FFToolbox Robert Housler TE ARI 26 1
Another receiving option for Carson Palmers 4000+ yards. Housler had a fine year and shows no reason to not show some improvement.
193 17.01 FFToolbox Leonard Hankerson WR WAS 26 1
An under achieving flier in the 17th round. Maybe RG3 can make the most of his talent. Garcon is injury prone and is known to miss time.
194 17.02 Scout PRO Jake Locker QB TEN 26 1
195 17.03 Gridiron Experts Roy Helu RB WAS 25 1
I like Helu to be the third-down/receiving back this season. He'll have limited value as a part time pass catcher, but should Alfred Morris go down with an injury, Helu has the skills to make some noise as the presumptive back-up.
196 17.04 Zach Law on Sports Travis Kelce TE KC 25 -1
197 17.05 Fantasy Sharks Dwayne Harris WR DAL 27 1
198 17.06 World Ranked Player #26 Denver Def DEN
Pick made based on My Draft Queue
199 17.07 The Huddle Donnie Avery WR KC 30 4
I guess when it's Round 17 and you've got Leonard Hankerson queued up and someone takes him a half-dozen picks before it isn't exactly being sniped. Avery has as much upside as any receiver left on the board, and if you're going to load up on WRs from one team it may as well be an Andy Reid-coached club.
200 17.08 Draft TV Alex Smith QB KC 30 7
I was waiting for my QB2, feeling comfortable with Stafford. I hate Alex Smith, plain and simple. But Andy Reid always puts together fantasy relevant QBs. I could see Alex Smith having Top 15 fantasy numbers.
