Ovr Pick Franchise Selection Pos. Team Age Exp.
1 1.05 FFToolbox -Scott C.J. Spiller RB NO 27 4
CJ Spiller is entering the prime of his career and should be a fantasy beast this season. Fred Jax is in the twilight of his career and will provide Spiller the occasional breather when he needs it. With either Kolb or rookie EJ Manuel at Quarterback, this offense will roll through CJ Spiller.
2 2.08 FFToolbox -Scott Julio Jones WR ATL 26 3
This format places an emphasis on WR, so it took me all of about 1.2 seconds to take the WR that I have #3 on my board this season. Only 7 points separated Roddy and Julio last season and I expect Julio to surpass him this year.
3 3.05 FFToolbox -Scott DeMarco Murray RB PHI 27 3
DeMarco Murray represents "through the roof" potential in PPR fantasy leagues. The only question is health, which has been an issue following Murray his entire career, not unlike Reggie Bush who in his early career couldn't shake the stigma of injury prone, however look no further than his last two years of becoming NFL tough. I'm projecting Murray on what he can do, and that's all I can really do. There's only a handful of backs that bring his potential workload in a high powered offense to the table. He is a top 5 RB in PPR if he plays 16 games. My projection: 275 1329 and 9 TDs 51 receptions 380 yards and 2 TDs through the air. 287 RB fantasy points in the 3rd round allows you to confidently start your draft WR-WR if need be.
4 4.08 FFToolbox -Scott Jordy Nelson WR GB 29 6
Again, the format requires a premium on WRs, starting at least 3 every week, up to 5 with dual flex. I took the WR that to me represents tremendous upside at the other end of Aaron Rodgers. His TD% is off the charts. If he can get a handle on the strange case of dropsies from last season, Jordy is in for his best year as a pro.
5 5.05 FFToolbox -Scott Peyton Manning QB DEN 39 16
My cardinal rule of Fantasy. Never turn down Peyton Manning in the 5th. While my usual strategy is to be the last guy to take a QB, I can't break my cardinal rule. Manning in the 5th. Manning enters every season trying to become the best Quarterback in the game, and he has the best chance he's ever had with the trio of WRs at his disposal and a championship calibre defense.
6 6.08 FFToolbox -Scott Justin Blackmon WR JAX 25 2
This isn't a pick on what I project Blackmon to produce. He won't finish higher in the rankings than many of the other options below him, but he's a guy I want on my playoff chase in weeks 12-16. His rookie season was fantastic and once he serves his suspension, the sky is the limit for Blackmon as the go-to-guy in the Jaguar offense.
7 7.05 FFToolbox -Scott Danario Alexander WR --- 26 4
There were only a handful of receivers better than DA in the latter part of the season. Rivers really seemed to trust Alexander more than anyone else on the field. The only question with DA is health. 5 knee surgeries is a scary proposition for sure, but I'll take his upside over others presented at this point in the draft.
8 8.08 FFToolbox -Scott Michael Floyd WR ARI 25 2
I think 8th-9th round definitely qualifies as a sleeper and Michael Floyd is my sleeper WR2 of the year. Pedigree+talent+opportunity = Fantasy Breakout potential. Carson Palmer and the lack of a real run game means big things for Arizona's passing game this year and while Fitz will command the ball, Floyd makes for a great second read in the passing game. Top 25 season coming for Michael Floyd.
9 9.05 FFToolbox -Scott Jared Cook TE STL 27 5
Rave reviews coming out of St Louis about Cook and the role he'll have in the offense. Let's see if he can put together a solid season. Considered others but the questions surrounding the Rams wide receivers make me believe he's ready for a true breakout season.
10 10.08 FFToolbox -Scott Martellus Bennett TE CHI 28 6
It's always nice to have a solid second option at Tight End because you can flex them during bye weeks and injuries. Bennett has a real opportunity in Kromer's new offense. I can see Bennett becoming a quality option for Jay Cutler this season.
11 11.05 FFToolbox -Scott Ronnie Hillman RB DEN 23 2
Here's a candidate for most improved player. He's getting 3/4ths of the reps with the starters. There's little doubt that Ball will be the starter at some point this year, probably pretty early on, but Hillman added weight in the off-season conditioning program and represents somebody I can flex every once in a while due to his value catching balls out of the backfield.
12 12.08 FFToolbox -Scott Johnathan Franklin RB --- 25 1
Pre-draft, Franklin was being discussed as the #1 rookie RB. Then he lands in Green Bay after Lacy. Well, with Lacy's potential injury situation and the fact that he landed in a high powered offense like GB, makes me confident Franklin will not only be a 3rd down contributor but he has potential to start a few games if something were to happen to Lacy.
13 13.05 FFToolbox -Scott Aaron Dobson WR NE 23 1
With all the craziness going on in New England, Dobson couldn't have found a better opportunity. He has a real shot at being the #2 or 3 option depending on if Gronk is healthy. Even as Brady's 3rd option, crazy value in the 13th round.
14 14.08 FFToolbox -Scott Robert Woods WR BUF 22 1
Total flyer pick here. Probably won't do me any good, but I'm just throwing darts. I don't want safe contributors, I can get that off the waiver wire. I'm looking for a potential injury to Stevie Johnson and this pick goes through the roof.
15 15.05 FFToolbox -Scott Ryan Williams RB DAL 24 3
Williams had a disappointing sophomore campaign. Many of us had him pegged as a breakout player last year, but that noise is all but over. With Mendenhall reunited with Arians, it looks as if Williams needs an injury to make an impact and even then, I'm not so sure.
16 16.08 FFToolbox -Scott Markus Wheaton WR PIT 24 1
Another flier pick. I'm not sold on the fact that Antonio Brown can handle the WR1 duties. Wheaton may have a chance to contribute this season.
17 17.05 FFToolbox -Scott Joe Flacco QB BAL 30 6
I have Peyton, so I just need a bye week guy and Flacco is fine insurance in the event the unspeakable happens to Peyton. Expect Flacco to have to throw more due to the defense taking major steps backwards this season.
18 18.08 FFToolbox -Scott Zach Ertz TE PHI 24 1
Chip Kelly should bring a fast tempo offense to Philadelphia. Lots of plays to go around and Ertz is the most talented tight end on the roster day one.
19 19.05 FFToolbox -Scott Blair Walsh PK MIN 25 2
Wow, I wait until the 19th round, usually that means I'm getting an average kicker, but I have Walsh as one of the better options. Kid had a great season last year.
20 20.08 FFToolbox -Scott Arizona Def ARI
