FFToolbox Mock Draft July 14

Draft took place July 14, 2014

Scoring System: PPR

Ovr Pick Franchise Selection Pos. Team Age Exp.
1 1.01 Scout PRO Adrian Peterson RB MIN 31 7
I think he will be the #1 RB in fantasy with Norv in town. Should set career high in catches
2 1.02 DLF LeSean McCoy RB BUF 28 5
Pretty easy choice here, high tempo offense, great all around back and still getting better it seems
3 1.03 FFToolbox Jamaal Charles RB KC 29 6
He may not repeat as top fantasy scorer, but he will be very close to it. PPR monster.
4 1.04 Fantasy Taz Matt Forte RB NYJ 30 6
Forte is in a great situation and has every chance to finish as the #1 RB in 2014 under Trestman.
5 1.05 KFFL Calvin Johnson WR --- 30 7
I briefly considered Eddie Lacy, but Calvin was the smarter pick for how I planned to construct this team.
6 1.06 Gridiron Experts - @MikeRigz Jimmy Graham TE SEA 29 4
Is Jimmy Graham a Tight End? Is he a Wide Receiver? hes a Fantasy Monster.
7 1.07 RotoExperts Demaryius Thomas WR DEN 28 4
#1 option in a Peyton Manning passing game is as safe a bet as they come.
8 1.08 #28 World Ranked Dez Bryant WR DAL 27 4
With the change in coordinators, I like Dez to be one of the most heavily targeted WRs this year.
9 1.09 #5 World Ranked Eddie Lacy RB GB 26 1
Lacy is a rock solid RB1 this year who is likely to finish in the top 5.
10 1.10 Draft Sharks Brandon Marshall WR NYJ 32 8
Was hoping Dez would fall here but happy to land Marshall. Safe pick with the upside to finish as a top 3 fantasy WR.
11 1.11 Dr. Roto A.J. Green WR CIN 27 3
Love beginning my draft with a rock solid WR1
12 1.12 SiriusXM Fantasy Antonio Brown WR PIT 28 4
Antonio Brown maybe the second best WR in Fantasy Football, check the numbers and the system is perfect for him. Don't Sleep on Antonio Brown
13 2.01 SiriusXM Fantasy Julio Jones WR ATL 27 3
Julio Jones was on a torrid pace last season before a injury to his foot sidelined him, a healthy Jones will finish as a Top 5 WR
14 2.02 Dr. Roto Le'Veon Bell RB PIT 23 1
Others may like Ball or Murray, but Bell finished strong last year
15 2.03 Draft Sharks Giovani Bernard RB CIN 24 1
Tough call here between Bernard and Murray. Went Gio because I trust him more to stay healthy and think he has bigger reception upside.
16 2.04 #5 World Ranked DeMarco Murray RB TEN 28 3
Murray finished as the #6 RB in PPR scoring last year despite missing a game. He's always an injury risk but his upside is worth the risk in the 2nd round.
17 2.05 #28 World Ranked Alshon Jeffery WR CHI 26 2
Had to chose stay big WR or go with Montee Ball. I chose to open with a second big wideout who has a very high ceiling
18 2.06 RotoExperts Montee Ball RB --- 25 1
If Knowshon Moreno can finish as a top five back in this system, the all-time rushing touchdown leader in college football should fare just fine also.
19 2.07 Gridiron Experts - @MikeRigz Marshawn Lynch RB --- 30 7
I was surprised by the comments after my selection of Marshawn Lynch. Apparently Dr.Roto was speaking about him earlier in the day and made a strong case that Lynch could be a potential bust in 2014. I dont see it; Beastmode should have another strong season, especially since hes gaining traction as an RB that can catch passes out of the backfield from time to time. Last season Lynch had 36 receptions for 316 yards and 2 scores. Add that to his huge 1200+ yards and 12TDs on the ground and hes a nice add as my RB1. Just in case you do think Lynchs going to crumble into a million rainbow colored skittle pieces, check out my later picks.
20 2.08 KFFL Jordy Nelson WR GB 31 6
Nelson is one of my favorite WR targets this year and should easily live up to this draft placement.
21 2.09 Fantasy Taz Arian Foster RB MIA 29 5
Foster has a great shot at comeback player of the year. Team is already talking about throwing to him more and with many questions at QB, he should get at least 20 touches a game. Most are already writing Foster off, but he is only 27 and I look for a strong bounce-back year for him.
22 2.10 FFToolbox Randall Cobb WR GB 25 3
With no established TE in place, Cobb should see a ton of short to intermediate targets.
23 2.11 DLF Doug Martin RB TB 27 2
I fully expect Martin to bounce back in a great way. His time may be eroded some by Sims but overall I feel he's a solid value here.
24 2.12 Scout PRO Pierre Garcon WR WAS 29 6
Still a #1 WR in my eyes. Should see more explosive plays and TD with Djax in town even if receptions go down a bit
25 3.01 Scout PRO C.J. Spiller RB NO 28 4
A first Rd pick just a yr ago has upside to be top 5
26 3.02 DLF Keenan Allen WR SD 24 1
Established himself as a must have last year in his rookie season. Allen should continue his dominance this season and makes a great cornerstone for my WR corps.
27 3.03 FFToolbox Andre Ellington RB ARI 27 1
Big-play runner and receiver with lightning speed. Love his upside and should easily outpace this draft position.
28 3.04 Fantasy Taz Rob Gronkowski TE NE 27 4
Just can't get off the Gronk-train. Already they are saying he is on track to start Week 1. I expect him to have a huge year and once again become Brady's top target.
29 3.05 KFFL Cordarrelle Patterson WR MIN 25 1
I don't believe in Zac Stacy. Peyton Manning crossed my mind, but Patterson gave me three explosive pass catchers.
30 3.06 Gridiron Experts - @MikeRigz Zac Stacy RB NYJ 25 1
For a brief second I thought about going with Julius Thomas with this pick, seeing how we have two flex's I snapped out of it as Fantasy owners can focus too much on the PPR element of a draft. While I'm not a huge fan of Stacy this year I do think if he can build on his strong campaign from a season ago than I just scored big in the 3rd round.
31 3.07 RotoExperts Julius Thomas TE JAX 28 3
Was between him and Vereen. I liked the gimmick of taking Thomas, love Thomas' red zone potential and Denver is definitely the right offense to load up on.
32 3.08 #28 World Ranked Shane Vereen RB NYG 27 3
Vereen averaged close to 10 targets per game last year. If healthy, he should be an RB1.
33 3.09 #5 World Ranked Andre Johnson WR --- 35 11
I wanted to go with a high volume WR here after starting with 2 RB's. He's requested a trade but I think he stays in Houston and puts up one more solid season. He won't finish in the top 5 but he's a decent shot to finish as a low end WR1
34 3.10 Draft Sharks Victor Cruz WR NYG 29 4
Cruz's TD total last year was a fluke. He scored just 4 times after totaling 19 TDs across the previous 2 seasons. I think that jumps back up to 7-9 in 2014. I like Cruz's fit in new OC Ben McAdoo's offense.
35 3.11 Dr. Roto Peyton Manning QB --- 40 16
Please tell me why he is left in the end of the 3rd round? He will throw for 40TDs in a down year
36 3.12 SiriusXM Fantasy Michael Crabtree WR OAK 28 5
A Full season of Kaepernick to Crabtree sign me up for 80 catches and close to double digit touchdowns
37 4.01 SiriusXM Fantasy Alfred Morris RB DAL 27 2
Over 2800 yards and 20 touchdowns in his first 2 NFL seaaons, not to mention durability is not a concern
38 4.02 Dr. Roto Vincent Jackson WR TB 33 9
I wanted Victor Cruz, but VJax is solid and McCown should find him in the redzone
39 4.03 Draft Sharks Michael Floyd WR ARI 26 2
I'm targeting this guy in the 4th round of all my drafts. Floyd was a top 16 fantasy WR over the 2nd half of last season. I expect him to finish even higher in 2014.
40 4.04 #5 World Ranked Aaron Rodgers QB GB 32 9
I normally wait much longer on QB, but it's tough to pass on my #1 QB in round 4. I'm not sure if I'd pick him again here if I get the chance.
41 4.05 #28 World Ranked Reggie Bush RB SF 31 8
In 2013, Bush had 4.5 yards/carry and 9.4 yards/catch. While healthy, he should be very productive.
42 4.06 RotoExperts Drew Brees QB NO 37 13
My strategy is either take one of the top three quarterbacks at a value or wait it out at the position. Brees in the fourth round is the type of value I'll take every time.
43 4.07 Gridiron Experts - @MikeRigz Larry Fitzgerald WR ARI 32 10
Fitzgerald doesn't get enough love. I know all the talk is about Michael Floyd these days, but the better Floyd performs the less double coverage Fitz will face. In other words, the Cardinals are no longer a one-man show and I expect Fitzgerald to have a stronger season in 2014. Fitz's ADP is 4.07, exactly where I took him
44 4.08 KFFL Wes Welker WR LAR 35 10
This wasn't exactly my plan, but having four of the top 15 receivers in my PPR rankings can't be all bad. I expect Welker to have one more strong season in him, but injuries are a concern.
45 4.09 Fantasy Taz Roddy White WR --- 34 9
Another player people are really down on, not sure I follow that thinking. After years of being superhuman with no missed games, he finally got hurt and missed some time. He tried to come back from his injury too quickly in 2013, but even at the end of the season you could see White getting his legs back. I expect White to be a Top-12 WR again in 2014.
46 4.10 FFToolbox Percy Harvin WR --- 28 5
Will handily lead the Seahawks in targets. Injury concerns way overblown.
47 4.11 DLF Cam Newton QB CAR 27 3
I wanted to grab Brees here but Cam will do just fine. I think Carolina will sort out the passing game but his rushing yards and TDs help a lot obviously.
48 4.12 Scout PRO Rashad Jennings RB NYG 31 5
Should be a 3 down workhorse in revamped offense
49 5.01 Scout PRO Toby Gerhart RB --- 29 4
Gets first chance in career to be the top back. Not sexy but should produce with volume
50 5.02 DLF Ryan Mathews RB PHI 28 4
Mathews looked great last season and word out of San Diego is they will continue to feed him the ball. This also gives me three above average RBs and frees me up to focus elsewhere over the next few rounds.
