Stud: A NFL player who has proved himself to be a top scoring player at his position. These players should be started each week regardless of match-up and should only be benched during bye weeks and significant injuries. From our Fantasy Football Dictionary

Our writers have classified the following players as studs for 2017. We will be updating this list throughout the pre-season.

Antonio Brown WR PIT 28 7 WR - #1
Brown had a fourth straight season with 100+ catches and over 1200 yards receiving, but he did fall short of expectations even though he still finished as the top scoring WR in PPR leagues. He missed Week 16 to keep him healthy with Steelers already clinching a playoff berth. Antonio did play through a hip issue over the last two months of the season. He scored double... Read More
A.J. Green WR CIN 28 6 WR - #5
Fantasy owners gave Green plenty of respect in the high stakes market in PPR leagues in 2016. He hit the ground running in Week 1 (12/180/1 on 13 targets) followed by two other impactful games (10/173/1 and 8/169/1) over his first seven starts. Unfortunately, his season ended in Week 11 with a bad right hamstring injury (tear). This cost him his sixth straight season ... Read More
DeAndre Hopkins Contract Year Player WR HOU 24 4 WR - #9
It's downright embarrassing to see the final stats (78/954/4 on 151 targets) of Hopkins in 2016. Teams doubled and triple team him all year leading to a decline in his catch rate (51.7 - 57.8 in 2015) with fade in his opportunity (21.4 percent) and his big play ability (10 catches for 20 yards - 20 in 2014 and 19 in 2015). Hopkins only had two games with over 100 yard... Read More
Brandin Cooks WR NE 23 3 WR - #11
Too many times in 2016, the Saints couldn't figure out how to get Cooks the ball. He had four disaster games (2/13, 3/31, 0/0, 3/19) while averaging five targets in those games. His ticket out of town was probably punched in Week 12 vs. the Rams when New Orleans didn't target him once. Most of his production came in three games (6/143/2, 7/173/1, and 7/186/2). Over hi... Jarvis Landry Contract Year Player WR MIA 24 3 WR - #15
After posting 110 catches for 1157 yards and four TDs on 166 targets, Fantasy owners wanted more growth from Landry in 2016. They had visions of a lower version of Antonio Brown. He finished with 35 fewer targets, but only 16 fewer catches and 21 fewer yards. His finals stats (94/1136/4) led to him finishing 16th in WR scoring in PPR leagues. His season started with t...
