Week 13: Start 'Em
Despite being Andrew Luck's go-to receiver last season, Doug Baldwin went undrafted. With a lack of proven playmakers, the Seahawks decided to sign Baldwin and give him a chance to crack the 53 man roster. With a great training camp, he secured a spot on the 53 man roster and he has been able to stay on the roster all season. Despite playing with 2 below average quarterbacks, Baldwin has been able to put up solid numbers for an undrafted rookie (34 receptions 604 yards and 2 touchdowns). This past week with Sidney Rice leaving the game early, Baldwin led the team in targets (10), receptions (5), and yards (60). Those numbers would have gone up had Rice not played at all, which is a likely scenarios, as Seattle plays on as short week as they host the Eagles on Thursday night. If you need a flex start this week, Baldwin is a solid choice.
I never thought I would be writing about Reggie Wayne in this article, but he has been absolutely horrible this season. Wayne had a big week 1, catching 7 passes for 106 yards and a touchdown; so fantasy owners were thinking that even without Peyton Manning, Wayne would still be a viable fantasy option. Unfortunately for those owners, that was completely false. After that big week 1, Wayne wasn't even worth a start as he never caught more than 5 passes or gained more than 77 yards and scored no touchdowns...until this past week where he finally broke out for 5 receptions for 122 yards and his 2nd touchdown of the season. A main reason for this big day was the brutal Carolina defense he was facing, but at least we know he's still alive. This week Wayne faces his rival New England Patriots who have the worst pass defense in the NFL. Wayne always shows up vs. the Patriots, so look for another big game and enjoy finally being able to use Wayne (though I would most likely sit him after next week).
