Week 14: Sleepers of the Week
Jabar Gaffney and the Washington Redskins face the New England Patriots at home in week 14. Gaffney is coming off a zero catch performance against Darrelle Revis and the Jets, but has a much better match-up this week against the Patriots. The Patriots secondary has allowed a league high 307.5 passing yards per game on the season, which should give Rex Grossman, Santana Moss, and Jabar Gaffney the opportunity to have a big games this week. Gaffney caught 12 passes for 187 yards and one touchdown in weeks 11 and 12, and his week 13 performance can probably be chalked up to a good Jets secondary. Fantasy owners can start Jabar Gaffney as a Flex play or WR 3 and can expect five catches for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Darrius Heyward-Bey and the Oakland Raiders travel to Green Bay for a match-up with the undefeated Packers in week 14. Heyward-Bey has been quiet over the past three weeks, not topping 43 yards in any of the games, despite scoring a touchdown last week against the Dolphins. Heyward-Bey and the Raiders offense should be able to put up good numbers this week against the Packers' 31st ranked pass defense. Everyone knows that the Packers are going to put up points, and for the Raiders to stay in the games, they will need to air it out. Charles Woodson may miss this week's game with a concussion, making Heyward-Bey a good sleeper play at wide receiver. Fantasy owners desperate for a WR 3 play can pick up Heyward-Bey and can expect five catches for 70 yards and a touchdown.
