Week 16: Injury Update
We let you know the playing chances of the big name players who were injured last week. This week's picks include Matt Hasselbeck, Ben Roethlisberger, Felix Jones, Willis McGahee, and James Starks.
The rookie from Georgia has done more than enough to justify the top 10 pick that the Bengals used on the potential rookie of the year candidate. Through 13 games, Green is averaging 77 YPG with 7 TDs. The Bengals are fighting for their playoff lives and will need their best playmaker on the field when they host an Arizona defense that ranks 23rd against the pass. Green should feast on Arizona, a team that has allowed numerous big plays this season. In week 15, Green caught six passes for 115 yards against St Louis, despite suffering a grade 3 sprain of his right shoulder in the first half. He participated in a limited practice on Wednesday and is expected to suit up. Green is a sure fire WR1 despite the injury this week in a very favorable match-up.
The 4th year WR from Kentucky left the week 15 loss to Miami in the 4th quarter after suffering a groin injury. He did return for Wednesday's practice and appears likely to play in week 15 when the Bills host Denver's 20th ranked pass defense. Johnson is averaging 62 YPG with six TDs and leads the league in moronic TD celebrations. In week 16, SJ could very well be shadowed by shutdown CB Champ Bailey and with the threat of re-injury he's not much more than a low end WR2 this week in a difficult match-up; consider your alternatives before penciling Johnson into your starting lineups.
