Week 17: Sleepers of the Week

These lesser-known players deserve to start this week due to matchup or other circumstances. This week's picks include Ryan Fitzpatrick, Joe Webb, Kahlil Bell, Evan Royster, and Ben Tate.

Vincent Brown and the San Diego Chargers travel to Oakland to take on the Raiders in week 17. Brown has not caught more than two passes in any of his last four games, but could be a sneaky play as a WR 3 this week if Vincent Jackson sits out. Jackson is dealing with a nagging groin injury, and with the Chargers being eliminated from playoff contention, he is unlikely to risk further injury by playing in week 17. The Chargers will put up a good fight to try to knock the Raiders out of the playoffs, and with Philip Rivers having a good second half of the season, Brown could see a good amount of targets this week in a potential high scoring game. Fantasy owners in need of a wide receiver (or a replacement for Vincent Jackson) can pick up Vincent Brown and can expect 70 receiving yards and a touchdown in the season finale.

Andre Roberts and the Arizona Cardinals return home to take on the Seattle Seahawks in week 17. Roberts has picked up his game over the past four weeks, catching six passes in three of his last four games. Roberts was targeted ten times in week 16, and behind Larry Fitzgerald, has been John Skelton's favorite target. Roberts is owned in just under 15 percent of fantasy leagues, but can be a valuable asset as a WR 3 in week 17 (especially in point per reception leagues). Fantasy owners can count on Andre Roberts catching five passes for 65 yards and a touchdown in the season finale.
