Week 11: Player Upgrades
Remember this guy? Formerly one of the best and most dominant receivers in the NFL, Andre Johnson has not lived up to the high expectations he has created throughout his career. If possible, trading for him would be a great move right now with his value at an all-time low. Despite his down year, the targets are still there (41 in his last four games) and with an advantageous schedule at his disposal, he could finish the year on a high note. Houston plays New England (ranked 25th in fantasy points allowed to wide receivers), Indianapolis (28th), and Minnesota (14th) in Weeks 14 to 16. In each of those games, their opponents will be making a playoff push, so these games should be very competitive. Point being, Matt Schaub will have to throw it to somebody.
Dennis Pitta finally came back to life last week by catching all five of his targets for 67 yards and a score. Naturally, his best fit is on your bench as a TE2. This makes him a great waiver wire pickup because he is owned in only about 40-percent of fantasy leagues. During your postseason, Baltimore will face Washington (ranked 31st in fantasy points allowed to tight ends), Denver (32nd), and the New York Giants (18th). For those teams that lack a stud TE, Pitta could come to the rescue, particularly against the Redskins and Broncos. Denver has allowed 67.3 fantasy points to TEs in their last five games and Washington has allowed 44.6 fantasy points to tight ends over the same span.
