Week 3: Pickups of the Week
Ryan Tannehill lost a key player in the preseason when Dustin Keller went down with a season-ending injury. Regarding his replacement: so far, so good. Clay has five receptions in each of Miami's first two games and he racked up 109 yards in Sunday's win over the Colts. Adding to his fantasy line, the 6-foot-3, 255-pounder tacked on a one-yard touchdown run. Don't expect the goal line carries on a weekly basis, but Clay remaining part of the passing game sounds right. Consider him a TE2 or bye week option overall.
During the preseason with quarterbacks not named Robert Griffin III throwing his way, Fred Davis showed sincere progress in his return from an Achilles injury that wiped out a chunk of his 2012 campaign. Now that RG3 is the one taking snaps, the throws are going elsewhere (including to Washington's rookie tight end). The thing is Davis and Griffin had limited scoring chemistry last season as well. In two NFL games, Reed has eight receptions for one touchdown - or one more touchdown than Davis has scored with RG3. For now the vet remains the Redskins' starter, but owners in deep leagues can start adding the rookie to their bench now.Injury Status: Out - Hamstring
