Week 5: Sit 'Em

We look at players owners usually consider starting but should think otherwise this week This week's picks include Matt Schaub, Russell Wilson, Chris Johnson, Maurice Jones-Drew, and T.Y. Hilton.

For those unfamiliar with Browns cornerback Joe Haden, know this: He's good, really good. The shutdown corner has been extremely impressive so far this season, keeping Mike Wallace to one catch in week one, Greg Jennings to three catches in Week 3, and most impressively A.J. Green to 51 yards on a whopping 15 targets in week four. Haden will likely shadow Stevie Johnson this Thursday night, which should lead to a long night for the streaky wide receiver. Johnson was held to just one catch and negative one yard in a victory over the Ravens in Week 4, giving fantasy owners yet another reason to keep him on their benches this week. Rookie Robert Woods emerging at the other receiver spot is another. Temper expectations as Johnson is little more than a low-end WR3 against the league's hottest corner back right now.

Injury Status: Out - Knee

Taking a look at the numbers here could offer different interpretations. On the one hand, Daniels is a top-10 tight end in most formats. However, he's averaging just 48 yards per game. While he found the end zone three times in the Texans' first two games, he has failed to do so in the next two. The good numbers for Daniels have come in games where the Texans have thrown the ball much more than they can be expected to as the season progresses. Another factor working against Daniels is backup tight end Garrett Graham, who has also scored three touchdowns. As for this specific game, San Francisco's defense stymied Jared Cook in Week 4, the latest TE limited against the 49ers. If you have other options, consider them this week over Daniels - a player owners should consider trading for the right price.
