Week 6: Sit 'Em
Marques Colston is coming off his worst game of the young season, catching just two passes for 15 yards in a win over the Chicago Bears. While Colston can usually be expected to bounce back, the match-up with Aqib Talib and the Patriots this week is not a good one. Talib has been excellent so far this season, including holding A.J. Green to just 61 yards on five receptions in week five. With Jimmy Graham dominating the league right now, Colston has not seen his usual amount of targets from Drew Brees, and until he can get back on track, should not be viewed as anything more than a high end WR3 in fantasy leagues. Fantasy owners who have a strong receiving corps should strongly consider sitting Colston on their benches this week.
A big money free agent signing this offseason, Jared Cook has failed to impress following a tremendous week one performance. Cook caught seven passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns in week one, but has totaled just 122 yards and zero touchdowns in the next four games combined. Cook caught just three passes for 26 yards in week five, and faces another stiff test in Houston this week. The Texans are the number one ranked defense against the pass, allowing just 134 passing yards per game. Cook will struggle to get back on track in week six, and should be left on fantasy benches if owners have another decent option to go with.
