Week 12: IDP Studs and Sleepers

We take a look at Week 12 IDP action, from the starters and those free agents worthy of starting or stashing

Here we are with another batch of waiver wire possibilities with rest of season potential, weekly must-start studs and one-hit wonders who can help you more than you might expect for your IDP needs.

HAND-SELECTED WEEKLY PICKS
The following players are my own personal choice to have an excellent game this week. Call it clairvoyance, but it's more about matchup and situational awareness. From Weeks 4 to 9, I tried to dig deep, usually selecting players from outside the Top 25 at their position. For the rest of the season, all players will be available to choose from. This should help include players who are actually more relevant to IDP leagues. A hit now means the player finished among the Top 20 in fantasy scoring at his position.

SEASON-TO-DATE SCORECARD
DT: 3-5 | DE: 2-6 | LB: 6-2 | CB: 2-6 | S: 5-3

DEFENSIVE TACKLE
Last week's pick: Kyle Williams, Buffalo Bills – three tackles, two sacks, one FF, one TFL (hit)
Gerald McCoy, Tampa Bay Buccaneers at DET: McCoy has seven tackles, three asists, four sacks, one PD and six TFLs over his last two games.

DEFENSIVE END
Last week's pick: Calais Campbell, Arizona Cardinals – two tackles, one sack, one TFL, one PD (hit)
Julius Peppers, Chicago Bears at STL: Last week, this former UNC stud collected eight tackles, three assists, two sacks and four TFLs. The Rams are giving up the second-most fantasy points to DL.

LINEBACKER
Last week's pick: James Anderson, Chicago Bears – seven tackles, one assist, one TFL (hit)
David Harris, New York Jets at BAL: Harris is New York's leading IDP LB. The Ravens allow the most fantasy points to LBs.

CORNERBACK
Last week's pick: Bradley Fletcher, Philadelphia Eagles – DNP (miss)
Brandon Carr, Dallas Cowboys at NYG: Carr is one of the top IDP CBs and has scored double-digit points in four of his last five.

SAFETY
Last week's pick: Morgan Burnett, Green Bay Packers – six tackles, six assists, one TFL(hit)
Tyrann Mathieu, Arizona Cardinals at PHI: The Eagles have allowed the most DB tackles. Mathieu has double-digit scoring in all but three of his games.

DEFENSIVE TACKLES
Note: Ranked outside Top 10 owned DTs on MyFantasyLeague

Gerald McCoy, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
McCoy has continued to improve well into his fourth season. He notched four sacks in his last two games.

Damon Harrison, New York Jets
This is Harrison's first year with significant playing time and he's making the most of it as an excellent run defender. His nine combined tackles last week have almost guided him into the Top 15 DTs.

DEFENSIVE ENDS
Note: Ranked outside Top 20 owned DEs on MyFantasyLeague

Julius Peppers, Chicago Bears
Apparently Peppers isn't done quite yet. He has everyone's attention now after compiling eight tackles, three assists, two sacks and one TFL last week.

Fletcher Cox, Philadelphia Eagles
One of the true underappreciated defensive linemen to come out of the draft last year. Cox is on pace to improve upon what was already an excellent rookie campaign.

LINEBACKERS
Note: Ranked outside Top 30 owned LBs on MyFantasyLeague

Paul Worrilow, Atlanta Falcons
The tackles haven't really slowed down yet for Worrilow. Add him if you can.

Sean Weatherspoon, Atlanta Falcons
Weatherspoon is finally healthy again and it's easy to forget he is one of the best LBs aged 25 and under. He will be starting alongside Worrilow.

CORNERBACKS
Note: Ranked outside Top 15 owned CBs on MyFantasyLeague

Joe Haden, Cleveland Browns
Three INTs in his last two games have put Haden back on the map as a Pro Bowl caliber cornerback. He just needs a few more tackles to really make it as a CB2 for your roster.

Corey Graham, Baltimore Ravens
Graham's 22 tackles over his last three games have pushed him into the Top 20 at his position.

SAFETIES
Note: Ranked outside Top 20 owned Ss on MyFantasyLeague

Antoine Bethea, Indianapolis Colts
Just another year for Bethea, who's on track for 100-plus tackles for the fourth straight season.

Jairus Byrd, Buffalo Bills
Byrd has taken over a large part of Buffalo's secondary in recent weeks. The Bills' safety positions are a fantasy player's paradise.
