Week 8: Super Sleepers

While we're not projecting starting type stats for these players, they have good potential and could surprise. This week's picks include Profiled players include Mike Glennon, Daniel Thomas, Kendall Hunter, Jeremy Kerley, and Brandon Gibson.

Marvin Jones is part of a run-first offense, but has the potential to continue capitalizing on his opportunity to make plays opposite A.J. Green. With a double threat on the outside, the Cincinnati passing attack becomes more potent. Last week Jones grabbed four of his six targets for nearly 60 yards and a score. There was some concern over a shoulder injury that sent him to the locker room early at the half, though Jones returned to play. This week Andy Dalton and his receiving corps faces a New York defense that has given up the tenth fewest points to QBs and the fifteenth fewest points to WRs. Dalton will have to work in this game and that means untilizing his top receivers. Jones has become a second option and will continue to produce. He is now on a two-game scoring streak that might very well continue in Week 8.

Rob Housler is unfortunately part of an offense that cannot seem to get their act together. At 6'5 and 250 pounds, Housler is a presence on the field and has the athleticism to match, but he has yet to have a true breakout game. The last two weeks have looked up for Housler as he has seen more targets and nabbed seven passes for 53 yards last week vs. Seattle. Housler should continue to see increased targets as the Arizona offense seeks to find its pace. He is an option at TE2 in deep leagues, but is just finding his way onto the general fantasy radar. This week he faces an Atlanta defense that has allowed the 13th most fantasy points to tight ends. Look for Housler to be a guy that some fantasy owners in deep leagues consider this week.
