Week 13: Game Time Decisions - Injury Updates
Jordan Reed (concussion) was unable to play Monday night as Washington fell 27-6 to San Francisco. Fred Davis was active, but wasn't targeted and is not fantasy relevant. Reed owners would be wise to target the waiver wire as Garrett Graham (vs. New England), Rob Housler (at Philadelphia) and Delanie Walker (at Indianapolis) could be serviceable week 13 replacements if the dynamic Washington TE is not able to pass concussion tests. Through nine games, the rookie TE from Florida is averaging 55 yards per game with three touchdowns. His absence would be a negative for RG3's fantasy value despite an average matchup with a Giants defense allowing the 17th most passing yards per game. The Giants defense is also mediocre against tight ends as they allow the 16th lowest fantasy PPG -- eight fantasy per game to the tight end position.
The third year TE from Portland State took a helmet to the knee in week 11 and was unable to play in the week 12 loss to New England. In his absence, Jacob Tamme led the Broncos in receiving, finishing with five catches for 57 yards and a touchdown. Tamme would be just a lower end TE if he gets the start this week against a KC defense allowing the third fewest fantasy PPG to opposing tight ends. Julius Thomas had three catches for 43 yards and a touchdown in Week 11 against the Chiefs (first touchdown the Chiefs had allowed to a tight end all season). Thomas is averaging 59 yards per game with 10 touchdowns through the first 10 games of the season. Interim head coach Jack Del Rio reported that he expected Thomas to return for the critical week 13 matchup with KC, but for now his owners should secure a backup plan. Eagles tight ends (Ertz / Celek) against Arizona and the Giants' Brandon Myers (vs. Washington) are a few potential waiver wire options to consider against defenses struggling to defend the tight end position.Injury Status: Injured Reserve
