Week 10: Player Upgrades
The Panthers are heating up and so is LaFell who was targeted nine times on Sunday – second only to Steve Smith's 10. LaFell has only scored once this season and has yet to establish a rapport with Cam Newton, but he has flashed breakout potential throughout the season -- most notably a 107-yard performance earlier in the year against the Vikings. As the Panthers continue to progress offensively, LaFell is a player standing to benefit, as could any teams owning him.
In a year where tight end depth is lacking, Olsen has strung together solid yet unspectacular performances week after week. On Sunday against the Falcons, he raised his game with 66 receiving yards on four catches. He also added his second touchdown in as many weeks. Olsen ranks ninth in receptions among tight ends and boasts a robust 12.5 yards per catch – a terrific average this side of Jimmy Graham. Tough matchups await the Panthers, but offensively they are beginning to click and Olsen is playing an integral role in making Carolina go.
