Quarterbacks

Teddy Bridgewater has been making waves this week in Vikings camp. He has been so impressive that he is already splitting first team reps with expected starter Matt Cassel. ... Andrew Luck is expected to receive many opportunities to throw the ball this season. We should see Luck's attempts significantly increase. ... The Jets sophomore QB Geno Smith says he expects to be a top five QB within the next year. The QB was refuting a recent ESPN survey, in which he ranked the worst starting QB in the league. ... The Giants want Eli Manning to improve his 57.5-percent completion percentage to 70-percent. This is a historic number accomplished only a handful of times. It seems this lofty goal is more symbolic than realistic. ... Nick Foles reportedly looks "good," " not great" in camp. ... Big Ben Roethlisberger is expected to get an extension after the season ends. He also claims his arm is stronger than it has ever been. ... There was praise for Andy Dalton because of his improved decision-making. He also is said to have more velocity and accuracy on his deep ball. ... Redskins QB Robert Griffin III believes the team is quickly improving this summer. He is not expecting to have his number called very often on designed runs under new head coach Jay Gruden. ... After spending three years in New England as a backup, Brian Hoyer is starting to look a lot like Tom Brady, in reference to how he competes and as a leader. ... Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones has declared Tony Romo 100-percent healthy.

Running Backs

Marshawn Lynch ended his holdout and reported to Seahawks camp. His backup Christine Michael suffered a shoulder injury this week. ... Falcons' 31-year-old veteran Steven Jackson went down with a left hamstring injury this week. This leaves the door wide open for rookie Devonta Freeman. Jackson is expected to be available for Week 1. ... In sad news, Giants RB David Wilson suffered a setback to his ailing neck. Wilson's career may be in serious jeopardy. His teammate Andre Williams has been taking the first team goal line carries. ... Steelers sophomore back Le'Veon Bell has been sitting out of practice with a hamstring injury. ... Injured Dolphins RB Knowshon Moreno may miss the entire preseason while recovering from knee surgery. With Moreno out, Lamar Miller continues to solidify his starting role. The Dolphins envision Miller as their version of LeSean McCoy. ... Mark Ingram is the current RB1 on the Saints depth chart; however, there is expected to be a three-man rotation. ... Arian Foster returned to practice after suffering a hamstring injury. ... 49ers LaMichael James dislocated his elbow this week. He is confident he will have a quick recovery. ... Browns rookie Terrance West has shocked the Browns with his excellent receiving skills. He may be making a push at Ben Tate's RB1 touches. ... Both Adrian Peterson (Vikings) and Frank Gore (49ers) are expected to sit out this preseason. ... The Eagles RBs, most notably LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles, have dominated in the passing game. ... In a surprising turn of events, Bills RB Bryce Brown was listed fourth on the Bills depth chart behind Anthony Dixon. ... Cardinals back Andre Ellington suffered a neck injury this week. It is not believed to be too serious, but will raise even more questions about his durability. Stepfan Taylor took the first team reps in his absence. ... Bills RB Fred Jackson inked a one-year extension this week. ... Chris Johnson is sometimes lining up at WR in Jets camp. He is looking great so far this summer. Chris Ivory is expected to take the goal line carries for New York. ... Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew are expected to split touches this season in Oakland. McFadden is said to have the "starting edge". Raiders RB/FB Marcel Reese lost weight this offseason and showed up to camp in excellent shape. ... Ronnie Hillman is winning the battle for backup to Montee Ball in Denver. Ball is expected to get over 250 carries this season. ... Ahmad Bradshaw has stood out in Indianapolis and looked fantastic while Trent Richardson returned to practice after briefly sitting due to injury. The Colts cut Chris Rainey and signed former Cowboys RB Phillip Tanner. ... Cowboys' backup RB Lance Dunbar has impressed during Cowboys camp. ... The Bucs are committed to a RBBC attack.

Wide Receivers

Browns troubled star Josh Gordon is currently appealing his season-long suspension. He is claiming his failed drug test is a result of second hand smoke. ... After returning from multiple complications from the same foot injury, Falcons wideout Julio Jones looks explosive in camp and hasn't lost a step. ... T.Y. Hilton left Colts practice with a finger injury. His teammate Reggie Wayne is back to full health. ... In Pittsburgh, Markus Wheaton will have a major role in the Steelers passing attack and is the heavy-favorite to be the team's No. 2 WR. ... Andre Johnson, after ending his holdout, has been sidelined with a hamstring injury. The 33-year-old disgruntled WR is hoping the injury will not linger. ... Detroit WR Calvin Johnson has been taking limited reps to preserve his health. ... Charles Johnson has been deemed the most intriguing WR in Browns camp. Patriots WR Aaron Dobson's foot surgery this past March was more serious than we were led to believe. He is already over a month past his expected return date. ... Bears' WR3 Marquess Wilson has been very impressive in camp. ... The Dolphins are trying to make Mike Wallace a complete receiver, however he is currently sitting out with a sore hammy. ... The Seahawks are very excited about rookie WR Paul Richardson. ... Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley described Marqise Lee's skill set as "freakish." ... Rob Gronkowski took part in 11-on-11 drills this week as he continues to make progress. Nonetheless he is expected to sit out this preseason. ... Kyle Rudolph signed a five-year extension with the Vikings this week. ... Zach Sudfeld has had another impressive summer, this time with the Jets. He is now receiving first team reps. ... Larry Donnell has been named the starting TE for the Giants. ... In Dallas, Gavin Escobar has been lining up as a WR quite a bit. ... Brandon Bostick is looking like the frontrunner for the Packers starting job. ... Lions' rookie Eric Ebron continues to struggle to catch the ball.
