Trey Hendrickson CIN DE
Bengals' Trey Hendrickson: Cincinnati not interested in trade
1h agoThe Bengals aren't interested in trading Hendrickson, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Per ESPN's Ben Baby, the defensive end requested a trade Wednesday, with Hendrickson's reported motivation being that he's seeking a long-term committed from the Bengals. At present, the 29-year-old -- who finished the 2023 regular season with 17.5 sacks -- is signed with Cincinnati through 2025. At this stage, the team doesn't appear inclined to deal the star pass rusher, a stance that also applies to wideout Tee Higgins, who also requested a trade earlier this offseason.

Jamin Davis WAS LB
Commanders' Jamin Davis: Not getting Year 5 option
6h agoThe Commanders are declining the fifth-year option on Davis' (shoulder) rookie contract, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Washington took Davis with the 19th pick in the 2021 Draft, and while he's started 36 of 45 games through three seasons, his elite athleticism (4.47 40, 42-inch vertical) hasn't translated to elite performance. The 25-year-old likely will be a starter again in 2024 under new coach Dan Quinn, but it won't come as any surprise if this ends up being Davis' final year in Washington. He had season-ending shoulder surgery in December, potentially impacting his participation in spring practices.

Ezekiel Elliott NE RB
Ezekiel Elliott: Meeting with Dallas
22h agoElliott's agent will meet with the Cowboys in Dallas on Wednesday, Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reports.
The two sides have been connected throughout the offseason, as Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reported last month that Elliott and the Cowboys had mutual interest in a reunion. The Cowboys lost Tony Pollard to the Titans in free agency and only added end-of-roster types Royce Freeman and Snoop Conner to a running back room that includes Rico Dowdle, Deuce Vaughn and Malik Davis. Elliott played in all 17 games for the Patriots last season, carrying 184 times for 642 yards and three touchdowns while adding a 51-313-2 receiving line on 65 targets.

Trey Hendrickson CIN DE
Bengals' Trey Hendrickson: Seeking trade
23h agoHendrickson recently requested to be traded from Cincinnati, a league source tells Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Per Schefter, Hendrickson -- who is under contract for $15 million in 2024 and is on the books through 2025 -- is looking for more long-term security than the Bengals have been willing to offer to this point. The 29-year-old is coming of a 2023 campaign in which he recorded 43 tackles and made a major impact as a pass rusher by racking up a career-high 17.5 sacks over 17 games.
-
Micah Parsons DAL LB
Cowboys' Micah Parsons: Contract option picked up
1d agoThe Cowboys exercised the fifth-year team option on Parsons' rookie contract Wednesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Per Gehlken, the star edge rusher will earn $21.32 million in 2025, but that salary may only serve as a placeholder before Parsons and the Cowboys are able to work out what's expected to be a lavish long-term deal. The 24-year-old is coming off another productive effort with the Cowboys in 2023, as he racked up 64 tackles and a career-high 14 sacks in 17 regular-season outings.

James Hurst NO OG
James Hurst: Announces retirement
1d agoHurst announced his retirement from the NFL after 10 seasons on Wednesday, Katherine Teller of ESPN.com reports.
Hurst started 51 games between guard and tackle for the Saints since joining the team as a free agent after the 2020 season. Prior to his stint with the Saints, Hurst began his career with the Ravens in 2014 after going undrafted out of North Carolina. His retirement comes just one day prior to the start of the 2024 NFL Draft and leaves the Saints with a glaring need at left guard, though the team did reportedly have advanced warning of Hurst's decision.

Emmanuel Clase CLE RP
Guardians' Emmanuel Clase: Locks down eighth save
23m agoClase earned the save Thursday against the Red Sox, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.
It's the fifth straight scoreless outing from Clase -- he's allowed just one hit while striking out eight in his last five innings. Overall, the right-hander is 8-for-10 in save chances this year with a stellar 0.69 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 14:1 K:BB over 13 innings.
-
Triston McKenzie CLE SP
Guardians' Triston McKenzie: Goes four innings vs. Red Sox
27m agoMcKenzie did not factor into the decision Thursday against Boston, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out seven.
McKenzie had to deal with traffic throughout Thursday's outing, though he was ultimately able to mitigate the damage thanks to a season-high seven strikeouts. He'd fail to qualify for a win, however, only making it through four innings after throwing 75 pitches, as Cleveland continues to monitor the 26-year-old's workload after he made just four starts in an injury-plagued 2023 campaign. Overall, McKenzie is 2-2 with a 4.91 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 18:17 K:BB through four starts (22 innings) this season. He's currently lined up for a road matchup with the Astros in his next start Wednesday.
-
Chase Anderson BOS RP
Red Sox's Chase Anderson: Struggles in first start
35m agoAnderson (0-1) took the loss Thursday against the Guardians, allowing five runs on three hits and three walks over 1.2 innings. He didn't record a strikeout.
After working his way out of trouble in the first inning, Anderson allowed a solo home run to Will Brennan in the second before Jose Ramirez launched a grand slam with two outs in the frame. The 36-year-old Anderson opened the year in Boston's bullpen, though he was thrust back into the rotation with injuries to Brayan Bello (lat), Nick Pivetta (elbow) and Garrett Whitlock (oblique). While Thursday's outing certainly wasn't encouraging, the Red Sox may need Anderson to make at least one more start until other starters are healthy. He's currently slated for a home matchup Wednesday against the Giants.

Jose Ramirez CLE 3B
Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Powers Cleveland to win
45m agoRamirez went 3-for-4 with a grand slam, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Red Sox.
Ramirez extended the Guardians' lead to 5-0 in the second inning, blasting a two-out grand slam on the 10th pitch of the at-bat from Chase Anderson. While it'd been a slow start to the year by Ramirez's standards, he now has six extra-base hits, including three home runs, and three stolen bases in his last 10 contests. The veteran third-baseman is now slashing .260/.271/.471 with five home runs, 23 RBI and 18 runs scored across 107 plate appearances this season.
-
James Paxton LAD SP
Dodgers' James Paxton: Next start will be Monday
1h agoDodgers manager Dave Roberts said Thursday that Paxton's next start will be at Arizona on Monday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Paxton would be on regular rest Sunday after he started Tuesday's game against the Nationals, but the Dodgers will go with a bullpen game Sunday in Toronto and give Paxton an extra day of rest. The southpaw has managed a 2.61 ERA but a 1.55 WHIP and 11:17 K:BB through 20.2 innings this season.
-
Nick Martinez CIN SP
Reds' Nick Martinez: Gives up five in loss
1h agoMartinez (0-1) took the loss against the Phillies on Thursday, allowing five runs on 11 hits over six innings. He struck out three.
Four of the runs against Martinez came in the third inning, including two on a Bryce Harper home run. After starting the season in the Reds' rotation, Martinez found more success when shifted back to the bullpen, allowing one run on five hits over seven innings in a pair of long-relief appearances. Still, he'll likely make one more start, currently scheduled for Tuesday in San Diego against his former team, with Frankie Montas (forearm) on the IL. The 33-year-old Martinez now sports a 5.48 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP and 17:2 K:BB across 23 innings this year.

Chris Livingston MIL SF
Bucks' Chris Livingston: Unlikely to play Friday
35m agoLivingston is listed as doubtful for Friday's game versus the Pacers due to a non-COVID illness.
Livingston has only logged four total minutes through the first two games of Milwaukee's first-round series against Indiana, so his expected absence shouldn't affect the team's rotation.
-
Khris Middleton MIL SF
Bucks' Khris Middleton: Questionable for Game 3
37m agoMiddleton (ankle) is questionable for Friday's Game 3 against Indiana.
Middleton suffered an ankle injury during Tuesday's Game 2 but was still able to play 36 minutes in the defeat. However, he didn't practice Thursday, and his status for Friday's game is up in the air. He'll presumably be monitored by the Bucks' medical staff in the hours leading up to tipoff before the team reveals his status.
-
Giannis Antetokounmpo MIL PF
Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo: Doubtful for Friday
39m agoAntetokounmpo (calf) is doubtful for Friday's Game 3 against Indiana.
Antetokounmpo has been putting up shots in recent days but hadn't yet resumed running or cutting as of Wednesday. As a result, he'll likely be unavailable for a sixth consecutive game due to his calf issue. Assuming he's sidelined, his next chance to suit up will be in Sunday's Game 4.
-
Grayson Allen PHO SG
Suns' Grayson Allen: Questionable for Game 3
1h agoAllen (ankle) is questionable for Friday's Game 3 against the Timberwolves, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports.
Allen tweaked his right ankle injury during Tuesday's Game 2 but underwent an X-ray after the matchup that came back negative. He practiced in a limited capacity Thursday and was able to run with a water treadmill. He also said that his ankle feels "better than expected." It's not yet clear whether he'll be available for Friday's matchup, but it's encouraging that he was able to do some activity Thursday.
-
Khris Middleton MIL SF
Bucks' Khris Middleton: Doesn't practice Thursday
4h agoMiddleton didn't participate in Thursday's practice session due to a right ankle sprain, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
Middleton briefly exited Tuesday's Game 2 against the Pacers due to his ankle injury, and the issue is still bothering him a few days later. Coach Doc Rivers said there is "a little" concern regarding Middleton's availability for Friday's Game 3. The Bucks will likely continue to monitor the 32-year-old in the hours leading up to tipoff, but his absence would be particularly significant if Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) remains out.
-
Luke Kornet BOS C
Celtics' Luke Kornet: Gets in work Thursday
4h agoCoach Joe Mazzule said Thursday that Kornet (calf) is feeling good and more will be known about his injury Friday depending on how he responds to work being done on the court, Jay King of The Athletic reports.
Kornet has already missed the first two games of Boston's first-round series against Miami with a calf injury. While Kornet could return to action if the series is drawn out, the Celtics appear to be using Al Horford as their sole bench big.
-
Tyler Myers VAN D
Canucks' Tyler Myers: Available for Friday
1h agoMyers (illness) is expected to draw back into the lineup for Game 3 on Friday, per Adam Kimelman of NHL.com.
Myers had five goals, 29 points, 77 PIM, 110 hits and 136 blocks in 77 contests during the regular season. He missed Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Nashville because of the illness. Now that Myers is healthy, he'll probably serve on the second pairing while Noah Juulsen might be scratched.

Sergei Bobrovsky FLA G
Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Starting in Game 3
5h agoBobrovsky will guard the road crease Thursday against Tampa Bay for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, per Alex Baumgartner.
Bobrovsky was solid in Game 2 on Tuesday, stopping 21 of 23 shots en route to a 3-2 win. The 35-year-old has played 72 career playoff games, recording a .905 save percentage and 31 total wins. The Lightning will undoubtedly be desperate to avoid falling in to a 3-0 series hole, so they'll likely come out firing Thursday.
-
Ryan Lomberg FLA LW
Panthers' Ryan Lomberg: Not playing Thursday
5h agoLomberg (illness) will not play in Thursday's Game 3 versus Tampa Bay, according to Colby Guy of Florida Hockey Now.
Lomberg accompanied the Panthers to Tampa Bay, but he will be replaced by Kyle Okposo on the fourth line for Game 3. Lomberg had five goals, two assists, 80 PIM and 179 hits in 75 games during the regular season.
-
Filip Chytil NYR C
Rangers' Filip Chytil: Traveling with team
5h agoChytil (head) will travel to Washington with the team in hopes of playing Friday in Game 3, per Peter Baugh of The Athletic.
Chytil only played in 10 games with the big club during the regular season, recording six assists and 22 shots on goal. The 24-year-old has played in 30 career playoff games, logging eight goals and five assists. Another update on his status should surface prior to puck drop versus the Capitals on Friday.
-
Sonny Milano WAS LW
Capitals' Sonny Milano: In doubt Friday
5h agoMilano (undisclosed) missed Thursday's morning skate, raising doubts about his availability versus the Rangers for Game 3 on Friday, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Milano is pointless in the postseason through two games while chipping in just one shot and a minus-2 rating over that span. Despite playing in only 49 regular-season contests, the 27-year-old winger still set a new personal best with 15 goals, though he missed the 30-point threshold for the first time in the last three years.
-
Juuso Parssinen NSH C
Predators' Juuso Parssinen: Recalled from AHL
5h agoParssinen was called up from AHL Milwaukee on Thursday, per Robby Stanley of NHL.com.
Parssinen played in 44 regular-season games for Nashville this year, recording eight goals and four assists to go along with 54 shots on goal. The 23-year-old was spotted at morning skate Thursday, so it looks like he could get into the lineup for Friday's Game 3 versus Vancouver. If he does play, expect Lomberg to slide into a bottom-six role.
