Week 4: Sit 'Em
Jackson opened his season as expected, with 100 plus yards and a score, but Weeks 2 and 3 were huge disappointments for his fantasy owners. As we saw Michael Vick go out with first a concussion in Week 2 and then a hand injury in Week 3, Jackson suffered the consequences of not having his starting QB passing the ball. In both Weeks 2 and 3 Jackson caught only two passes. If Vick does not start Week 4 against San Francisco, I would strongly recommend that you sit Jackson. With either Kafka or Young throwing, it is difficult to put Jackson in your line-up. Watch Vick's status to determine your strategy for Jackson.
With Chris Cooley out of action, Fred Davis became a great option at tight end the first few weeks of the season. Now it appears Cooley is back into the full swing of the offense and this does not bode well for Davis. Rex Grossman targets Cooley early and often and Davis could be left out in the cold in coming weeks. Cooley only had 4 receptions for 40 some yards this past Monday, but Davis went from high production to 1 reception for 23 yards. Watch this situation, but I think Cooley will step back into his primary role as the tight end target in the Washington offense. This week look for Tim Hightower to run wild on the St. Louis defense. Any Shanahan offense features the run and with Grossman struggling a bit, Hightower will take the lead in Week 4. Sit Davis until we see his productivity increase.
