Week 5: Sleepers of the Week

These lesser-known players deserve to start this week due to matchup or other circumstances. This week's picks include Kevin Kolb, Donovan McNabb, Dexter McCluster, Willis McGahee, and Isaac Redman.

Eric Decker and the Denver Broncos face off with division rivals, the San Diego Chargers, in week five. Decker has been a revelation for the Broncos so far this season, catching at least five passes in each of the previous three games. In week four against the Green Bay Packers, Decker caught five passes for 56 yards, while also scoring two touchdowns (his second two touchdown game over the past three weeks). Decker is a must start in point per reception leagues, and should also be started in traditional scoring leagues as a WR 3, or flex play. Fantasy owners should get Eric Decker into their lineups and can expect five receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown from the second year wide receiver.

Sidney Rice and the Seattle Seahawks travel to New York to take on the Giants in week five. The big money off-season signing has been very productive after returning from an injury that cost him the first two games of the season. Rice has caught 11 passes for 188 yards and a touchdown in two games against the Cardinals and Falcons. Tarvaris Jackson will need to lean on Rice this week if he hopes to be able to pull the upset against the Giants. Opposing teams should start to double team Rice, as the rest of the Seahawks pass catchers are below average. Even with teams focusing on stopping Rice, Jackson should make every effort to get his best playmaker the ball as much as possible. Fantasy owners started Rice in only 17 percent of leagues last week, but that number should rise, and Rice can be expected to catch five passes for 70 yards and a touchdown this week, making him a solid WR2-WR3 play.
