NFL Quick Snaps: Donald Driver, Hines Ward, DJAX, Vincent Jackson, Randy Moss, Peyton Manning

Not everyone has the luxury to spend 15 minutes reading lengthy articles nor do they have time to watch Sportscenter until they've memorized the entire program. That is the premise for Nick (Zeus) Browne and Jordan Thayse' new hit Quick Snaps! We are going to bring you the hottest NFL topics with quick takes. When time allows come back later and read the more in-depth dissected articles on your favorite topics.

For now, Quick Snaps:

  1. Donald Driver @Donald_Driver80 and Hines Ward @mvp86hinesward have hit that stage in their career when age has finally caught up to them. Neither wants to hang it up and both have played their entire career with their respective franchises -- the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Each surpassing a rare receiver milestone of 10,000 yards. Both fans and players alike would prefer to see them stay home for their final years. Will they?

If I had to guess, both will be cut and re-signed. Both players have stressed the want to renegotiate with their current ball clubs and I think both will finish their careers with the teams that gave them their opportunity. Driver has a little bit more of a challenge with the depth at the wide receiver position in Green Bay, but is still serviceable and a leader in the locker room. Ruling: Both will be in the same colors that they were for their careers in 2012.

  2. DeSean Jackson @DeseanJackson10 has shown moments of brilliance in his short career, but he comes with some baggage and obviously struggled last year from a mental standpoint on the field. Rumors have it Philly is considering using the franchise tag on the young bird. Do you think they truly want to sign him long term or are they going to cast him out as bait into the trade pond?

I think "DJax" is a great young talent. The Eagles have a little bit of leverage because of his miserable 2011 season, but all in all Jackson will hit his payday. In my opinion it would be a bad idea to trade Jackson at the given moment, because his stock is at an all time low. Given his talents at the receiver position (coupled with his incredible return game), DeSean is a value in Philly. With the tandem of Jackson and Maclin, Vick should be set with weapons when they play to their potential. Ruling: Philadelphia re-signs Jackson, no questions asked.

  3. Vincent Jackson @VincentTJackson - All signs say he is likely not returning to San Diego. Who are the favorite suitors and who offers strong fantasy value for his talent?

Rumors are floating around that Jackson will land in San Fransisco. I could see a couple different suitors if he moves, including teams like Jacksonville, Chicago, or St. Louis. All teams desperately need a receiver, and Vincent Jackson is a great target. Still, it is hard to imagine the Chargers (who have cap room) not making a strong push for Rivers' number one threat. I say that number 83 is not done in San Diego. San Diego will do what they do not like to do and ante up for one of the league's more underrated pass catchers.

  4. Randy Moss - It seems since forever that an off-season in the NFL didn't have either Brett Favre or Randy Moss' name surface. Will Randy bring interest and can he still be productive at this stage of his career?

Randy and his agent are trying their hardest to drum up interest. Moss and "Moss TV" are creating a mockery of the future Hall of Famer in my eyes. Nonetheless, he is doing what he intended to and creating a stir while drawing attention to his name. My guess if that Randy does not get picked up prior to the NFL preseason, and will be one of the top emergency wide outs in case something happens to a team's star. Fact is Randy is closer to 40 than he is 30 and did not play football in 2011. Only time will tell.

  5. Peyton Manning - Real quick, Indy or elsewhere?

Peyton is done in Indy. We all see the writing on the wall. Irsay knows it, we all know it. I feel like I am beating a dead horse going over the teams that are a good fit, so I will just name them. Miami, Washington, Arizona, and the Jets are my top options. It will be an interesting off-season.
