No longer needed in Tampa Bay, TE Kellen Winslow traded to Seahawks

There wasn't going to be room for two former Pro Bowl tight ends, so the Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded Kellen Winslow to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday. They received a conditional 2013 seventh-round pick in return. That pick could be upgraded to a sixth-rounder depending upon Winslow's production. Last season, Winslow led the Bucs with 75 receptions and was second on the team with 763 yards. Winslow has caught at least 66 passes in five of the last six seasons.

Fantasy Analysis:

I find it a little odd that the Seahawks would give up anything for Winslow, consindering that after the Bucs added Dallas Clark earlier in the day, everybody pretty much figured that Winslow wasn't far from the chopping block. But I guess they didn't want to compete for his services. Winslow's knees are a problem, but he's still a very reliable safety blanket for a quarterback. Depending on field time, he's worth tracking in PPR leagues. However, his fantasy value is limited since Zach Miller remains in the picture up in the Northwest. They will vie for targets; neither player is more than an unexciting TE2 in standard leagues.
