Kurt Warner expects Kevin Kolb to be Cardinals 2012 starting quarterback

Kurt Warner stated on the NFL Network that he expects Kevin Kolb @KevinKolb_4 to win the starting job in training camp despite his disappointing 2011 season in Arizona. Warner believes that a lack of really having a grasp of the Cardinal's offense was to blame for the struggles Kolb had last season. Warner feels that having a full offseason to learn the nuances of the offense will allow Kolb to beat out Skelton for the starting quarterback position.

Fantasy Analysis:

Ugh. While I am an unabashed fan of Kurt Warner, I cannot go along with this assessment. Kolb did manage to parlay two good games with the Philadelphia Eagles into a very nice contract from Arizona and then he went out and had a miserable season. Granted, John Skelton @johnskelton19 is not exactly the Doug Flutie, to Kolb's Rob Johnson, but he did lead the Cardinals to a 5-2 record as the starter last season. More importantly, Skelton has shown a willingness to get the ball to Larry Fitzgerald @LarryFitzgerald regardless of the coverage and is not afraid to force the ball to his stud wide receiver. Let's face it, neither Skelton or Kolb are viable fantasy contributors and that is a shame because the Cardinals have put together some very nice players at the offensive skill positions to surround their quarterback. Unfortunately, they did not address the biggest need on the offensive side of the ball and it puts a ceiling on the fantasy production of players like Fitzgerald and rookie wideout Michael Floyd @MichaelMFloyd. For fantasy purposes in 2012, it would be best for John Skelton to emerge from training camp as the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals. As the old saying goes, "It's better than a sharp stick in the eye". Not by much though.
