Larry Fitzgerald Thinks You Should Draft Calvin Johnson

Larry Fitzgerald @LarryFitzgerald has spoken. During his time on ESPN's SportsCenter, Larry offered some fantasy advice of his own. Yes, it was to draft Calvin Johnson ahead of him. In almost all fantasy mocks and rankings, Megatron is getting the nod, but it is interesting to see Fitz' perspective.
Larry said that you should draft Calvin Johnson ahead of him because of the quarterback situation that the WR's are in. While Megatron has an emerging star in Matthew Stafford @Staff_9, Fitzgerald still does not know who will be slinging him the rock. That is right, the Arizona Cardinals after losing out on the Peyton Manning sweepstakes, are going to have a heated QB battle between Kevin Kolb @KevinKolb_4 and John Skelton @johnskelton19. While Skelton won more games than Kolb in 2011, Kevin Kolb has a hefty price tag and the Cards gave up quite a bit to acquire his services.
So who should fantasy drafters around the country draft first, and is it by a wide margin, or just a bit?

Fantasy Analysis:

Zeus- As a Fitz owner, I say draft Megatron as soon as you can before someone else snags him. He will be a first round pick and he will go early. Like I said, this is coming from a Fitz owner. I for one love both wide outs and I think they will both finish in the top three this year in fantasy, but I buy into Fitz' words here. Stafford, although has only been healthy for one full season, was incredible. But that isn't the only reason Calvin Johnson is a fantasy beast. He did it when Stafford was injured in 2009 and 2010 with 2nd to 3rd string QB's. He is a freakish talent with unbelievable athletic ability and a knack to make monster plays. He is a game changer no matter who is throwing to him, but you have to plan as if Stafford is healthy the whole year and if that is the case Megatron could transform his 2011 numbers and build on them in 2012.
Don't get me wrong, Fitz is no slouch. He has averaged 86 balls, 1200 yards, and 9 TD's per year over his 8 year career which is ridiculous. Expect similar numbers or more this year from Fitz as he is again Arizona's safety net and one of the best WR's in the game.
You cannot lose out drafting either, but this guy says draft Megatron first.
Thayse- When I was first contemplating how I wanted to address this article I thought I was going to defend Fitz for being humble and point out the fact that he is every bit as good a player as Calvin Johnson. Then I looked at the stats, went into the film room, and came out realizing that it's not 9 out of 10 people who agree it is 10 out of 10 including Mr. Fitzgerald. In a PPR format Tron scored 86 MORE points last year. That is almost 5 more games of points using Fitz's average from last year. I can give some merit to the QB and surrounding talent since the last year Fitz had Warner and they made their run he posted 97 catches and 13 tds and just about won a super bowl but if you go into this year's draft even thinking that Fitz might be worth drafting ahead of Johnson you may need to get an MRI. In fact I don't even know if Fitz is the second best fantasy receiver and I probably would still be saying that if Peyton Manning HAD decided to play for Arizona.
Fitz may be a freak, but there is a reason they call Johnson by the name Megatron. He is an extremely dangerous weapon that has been nearly successful in taking over planet football.
