Oakland Raiders wide receiver Denarius Moore didn't play in Monday's preseason game versus the Cowboys because of his right hamstring strain. The move might have been precautionary, but it continued an up-and-down couple of months for Moore's health. He originally strained the muscle during June minicamp, but he was physically cleared when training camp opened last month. It looked like his hamstring was good to go. However, Moore has missed some practice time and now the first preseason game because of it.
At least we hope it's just the Raiders playing it safe. In any case, Moore is certainly not 100 percent after close to two months, post-injury. That's especially worrisome for a wide receiver who relies so much on speed. Moore should be Oakland's No. 1 WR this year and has incredible breakout potential. Right now, however, you should be drafting him as a guy you can put on the front of your bench, and hope his hamstring issues vanish for good.
