Buccanners RB LeGarrette Blount injures groin Friday

What looked like something catastrophic turned out to be relatively minor for Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount @LG_Blount.
Blount injured his left leg during the second quarter of Friday night's game versus the Titans. He stayed on the ground for a bit, writhing in pain before limping off the field and being taken to the locker room. It looked serious, and reporters at the game speculated on Twitter that it was a major knee injury. It turned out to be a groin strain that neither Blount nor head coach Greg Schiano seem all that concerned about.
"I just took a hit on the side, and it tweaked my groin a little bit," Blount said to the Tampa Bay Times. "I'll be back. It hurt. It's something we're going to have to look into (Saturday). We'll find out what's going on."
Blount was noncommittal when asked if he'll be ready to play Week 1 versus the Carolina Panthers.

Fantasy Analysis:

Blount can't say anything firm on that question because he probably doesn't know the severity of his groin injury yet. We should find out more on his condition in coming days. While a serious injury to Blount would have boosted Doug Martin @DougMartin22's fantasy stock a little bit, it's not like Blount did himself many favors while on the field -- 11 yards on eight carries.
Meanwhile, Martin had a couple of nice runs, including a 16-yarder that was negated due to a holding penalty. He clearly remains the lead dog among this duo. He'll give away some carries on first and second downs, but Martin looks poised to provide RB2 stats in his rookie season.
