Tim Hightower has the ACL thing. Roy Helu has the Achilles tendinitis thing. Now Evan Royster has a knee thing. Royster told the media Thursday that his knee was so sore Wednesday morning that he had trouble standing up. He said it felt better today and that after an MRI came back negative, doctors have told him to rest. So, Royster will miss Saturday's game against Indianapolis. But this knee injury isn't expected to keep him out for long.
Hightower is still on the PUP list, and Helu, who returned to limited practice on Wednesday, won't play in this weekend's game either.
Alfred Morris , the stage is yours. I didn't see Washington's previous game, but Morris got the majority of the first-team work, running 10 times for 34 yards. At this point, Royster and Morris are probably the team's top two RBs by default, just because of how much time Helu and Hightower have missed. But if I had to pick one, it's still Helu. I'll gladly let his draft stock drop, put him on my bench, let him get healthy and then perform like we know he can ... as long as Mike Shanahan lets him.
