Denarius Moore has a hamstring injury, and Jacoby Ford has a foot injury. Head coach Dennis Allen told the San Francisco Chronicle on Tuesday that he thinks both wide receivers are "close" to returning, but he said he didn't know exactly when that would be.
So, someone has to step up. And if you ask Carson Palmer, he's got some pretty nice things to say about an undrafted rookie out of Temple, Rod Streater .
"[Streater] didn't come in like he's an undrafted rookie; he doesn't play like he's a rookie," Palmer told CSN Bay Area. "He's special. And that's pretty obvious. He just wants to get better, but there's nothing scared about the way he plays or about the way he prepares. ... Just a ton of upside, and I can't wait to keep working with him."
Streater has 4.5 speed and has already caught almost as many balls this preseason as he did in his senior season with the Owls. Palmer can't hide his love for Streater, and that helps his fantasy stock. If Ford and especially Moore have to miss multiple games, Streater is someone to watch in deep leagues.
