Jets tight end Dustin Keller has been dealing with the effects of a hamstring strain for a few weeks, but he gutted it out in Week 1 and that was the plan up for Week 2 until Wednesday. Then he re-injured his hamstring during that day's practice, sat out the rest of the week and has been ruled out by head coach Rex Ryan.
"It's just best that (Keller) sit out, miss this game and then hopefully be ready to go next week," Ryan said.
Keller initially injured his hamstring during the team's third preseason game. The Jets visit the Steelers on Sunday.
It's a noteworthy loss for the Jets as Keller's presence can be important for Mark Sanchez. In fantasy, however, I don't really care for Keller, especially after last week's one-catch, 7-yard debut. There are so many other tight ends who are more talented and in better offenses. When healthy, Keller is not a top-15 TE to me.
