Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert injures leg

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert @BlaineGabbert left during the fourth quarter with an apparent hamstring injury. With the game out of reach, head coach Mike Mularkey told reporters that he felt it "wasn't worth the risk to keep Gabbert in the game," according to The Florida Times-Union. At the time of his injury, Gabbert had only complete 7-of-19 passes for 53 yards and a touchdown. Backup QB Chad Henne completed each of his two passes for 23 yards in Jacksonville's 27-7 loss to the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Analysis:

The so-called "light" doesn't appear to have turned on for Gabbert. Although he hasn't yet thrown an interception, the second-year QB is only completing 51.7-percent of his passes, which is actually an improvement from his 50.8 completion rate a year ago. The former Missouri product had a solid Week 1 game in a close loss to Minnesota (260 yards and 2 TDs) so perhaps some progress is being made. For fantasy owners, Gabbert is basically untouchable. With no wide receivers to take pressure off RB Maurice Jones-Drew @Jones_Drew32, this offense is predictable and ineffecient. If Gabbert has an injured leg, it only makes the situation that much more untenable.
