Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding mere hours after his Monday Night Football win over the Denver Broncos. Around 5 a.m., Turner was booked and processed into jail and released roughly two hours later on $2,179 bond.
Wow. You'd think playing in the NFL during a Monday Night Football game would be enough excitement for one evening. The Broncos mounted a small comeback late in the game to make it interesting but this game was largely controlled by Atlanta. So after all of it, Turner gets this DUI and it'll be interesting to see how Roger Goodell decides to handle it. Usually the NFL doesn't implement any suspensions or discipline until after the matter is settled. Yet given the unusual circumstances (high profile player, directly after a game, in-season incident) maybe Goodell acts sooner rather than later. Probably not a bad time to add RB Jacquizz Rodgers if he's available in your league.
