Rams RB Steven Jackson 'iffy' for Week 3

Rams RB Steven Jackson 'iffy' for Week 3

According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson @sj39 is not a lock to play in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears. In fact, in his headline he says "Jackson still iffy." For the second consecutive day, Jackson missed practice on Thursday due to his groin injury. "I'm still not 100-percent, but I'm day-to-day," Jackson said. "The injury is not as significant as we once though it was, and we're just going to go from there. I still have another three days before the game. So each and every day buys me time."

Fantasy Analysis:

Not to imply I'm wearing a tin-foil hat while saying this, but I personally get the impression that the Rams simply want to see what their backups are capable of while also taking a very conservative approach with Jackson. Rookie RB Daryl Richardson @DRICH_26 played great and the Rams will also use RB Isaiah Pead @iPead should Jackson be unable to play. Head coach Jeff Fisher added that he also likes No. 4 runner Terrance Ganaway, a former teammate of Robert Griffin III over at Baylor. Continue to monitor Jackson's status throughout the week but just know that it is practically assured that Richardson will see the field as well.
