The Patriots are already without tight end Aaron Hernandez. They may also be missing their most-targeted wide receiver Sunday night against the Ravens. Brandon Lloyd is questionable to play in the game because of a thigh injury. He participated in every practice this week, but he was limited. Along with his team-high 21 targets, Lloyd leads the Patriots with 13 catches and is second with 129 receiving yards.
The local scribes seem to think that Lloyd will play against the Ravens, but this is a tricky situation. This is a Sunday night game, so we probably won't know whether Lloyd will be active or not until 7 p.m. Eastern. It all depends on what you've got on your bench, but considering his limited practice time and the difficult matchup on the road, I would most likely sit Lloyd.
If Lloyd does stay on the sidelines, well, things just keep getting better and better for Wes Welker.
