Raiders TE Brandon Myers concussed

Oakland Raiders tight end Brandon Myers @Bmyers83, while catching a critical 15-yard pass on third and long, was concussed after taking a serious hit from Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Mundy. Myers had to leave the game although he did finish the day with four catches for 55 yards. Myers, a fourth-year vet out of Iowa, is already on pace to have a career-best season. He's caught all 15 targets thrown to him this year for 206 yards. 11 of his 15 receptions have been first downs.

Fantasy Analysis:

Safe to say that Myers wasn't on anyone's radar heading into the season, except diehard Raiders' fans. Thrust into a starting role, the 6'3, 256-pounder isn't exactly fantasy gold, but depending on your scoring system, he is likely a low-end TE1. With many established names off to a sluggish start at the position, abandon all pre-conceived notions of who is supposed to be doing what. Who has more points Jared Cook @JaredCook89 or Martellus Bennett @MartysaurusRex? Jacob Tamme @JacobTamme or Dennis Pitta? Who doesn't wish they had Kyle Rudolph @KyleRudolph82 after his huge Week 3 game against the 49ers? Myers is among a group of breakout stars at tight end this season and you might consider adding him to your bench just in case he's the next big thing. Myers' Week 4 status has yet to be determined.
