Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola made a beautiful, one-handed, 44-yard grab in the first quarter of Thursday's game versus the Cardinals. Unfortunately, he left in the second quarter with an ugly injury that will keep him out for quite a whiile. A team source has told ProFootballTalk.com that Amendola broke his collarbone.
Expect Amendola to miss four-to-six weeks. That was the case with Chargers running back Ryan Mathews when he suffered the same injury during the preseason. Amendola currently has 32 catches, tied for the most in the NFL, and the Rams' passing game without him looked hideous, to put it lightly. Chris Givens caught a 51-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, but you don't want to add anyone from this situation, including quarterback Sam Bradford. He'll be heavily affected by the loss of his safety blanket and top receiver. This injury may lead to more short receptions for Steven Jackson . He looked relatively healthy tonght, and has just seven receptions through five games.
