A huge hit from Seattle Seahawks defensive end Anthony Hargrove changed the course of Chicago Bears wide receiver Johnny Knox 's life. Since that time, he's had spinal surgery to repair a fractured vertebra and was unable to practice during the offseason or training camp. Knox is still unsure if the Bears will activate him from the PUP list in time to keep his hopes of a return this year. Knox has not yet been able to run at full speed, yet continues to rigorously rehab to try and get healthy again.
Knox's career is still in jeopardy and this article, while it does provide some hope, doesn't articulate at all that Knox is anywhere close to a return. The Bears only have a couple more weeks left to activate him from the PUP list and Knox's slow recovery doesn't indicate he'd even be ready to practice if given the choice. The safe bet is that he doesn't return until next year and since he is still only 25 years old, he has plenty of his career still ahead of him.
