The Tennessean beat writer Jim Hyatt believes that Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker will not play in Week 8, giving QB Matt Hasselbeck another week in the starting lineup. Locker was a limited participant in practices throughout this past week and will get another look from coaches and team doctors. Hasselbeck has played relatively well in his absence. The Titans have won each of their last two games against Pittsburgh and Buffalo, respectively.
Hasselbeck hasn't played exceptionally well by any means and it's clear that Hasselbeck isn't much of a fantasy QB. Rather than rush Locker back onto the field, patience is for the best. The Titans are currently 3-4 and are the tenth seed in the AFC. An AFC South title looks well out of reach and a wildcard spot is wide open because nine AFC teams are 3-3 or 3-4 right now. A fully healthy and well-rested Locker gives this team a legit shot to sneak into the playoffs.
