Rams will stick with split backfield

The Rams lost to the Packers on Sunday, but it can't be blamed on the ground game. Running back Steven Jackson @sj39 carried the ball 12 times for 57 yards and a touchdown, and Daryl Richardson @DRICH_26 gained 79 yards on 11 touches. Richardson has gotten at least nine touches in each of the past three games, and according to offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, he will keep getting a decent amount of playing time.
"They both complement each other very well," Schottenheimer said. "You'll see us try to mix in different packages with each guy and ask them to do things that maybe the other guy's done early in the season, because they're both certainly capable of doing that."

Fantasy Analysis:

Head coach Jeff Fisher said he would like to see Jackson get two-thirds of the carries, but it's basically been an 50-50 split in the last two games. Jackson isn't even getting two-thirds of the playing time -- he saw just 35 snaps Sunday compared to Richardson's 24. Obviously, it's not great for Jackson's fantasy value, but as long as it is effective, the Rams are going to stay with what works. Richardson is a low-end flex while some teams are on bye, and Jackson is a mid-range RB2. He might be a little lower than usual with upcoming games against the Patriots and 49ers.
