Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings has opted to have surgery on his torn abdominal muscle. There is no clear timetable for his return officially, but doctors "expect him to be sidelined about three weeks," according to a source says ESPN's Adam Schefter. "Honestly, I'm over being bummed about it. That took place three, four weeks ago," Jennings said. "It is what it is. I need to take care of it 100 percent, and that's the process I'm taking."
Jennings was likely many owners' top WR after fantasy drafts and have since been forced to find a replacement. This news only further pushes back his expected return. Moving forward, now would be a good time to test how cheaply you can acquire Jennings via trade. Let's assume he misses a full month. If he doesn't return until Dec. 2 (Week 14), you now have a huge asset joining your team as the fantasy playoffs begin. While it may be risky to start him at that point in time, it's still a great option to have at a critical point of the season. For leagues with an injured reserve spot on the bench, there's very little harm in owning him.
