The Jacksonville Jaguars have already announced that running back Maurice Jones-Drew will be inactive for Week 9. The seven-year vet already missed Week 8 and this early declaration doesn't bode well for his chances in Week 10 either. Backup RB Rashad Jennings rushed for 59 yards on 17 carries, adding six receptions and 56 yards as well. With Jacksonville all but eliminated from playoff contention given their 1-6 record, there's not much incentive to forcing Jones-Drew back into the the lineup.
Jennings continues to be a solid waiver wire addition assuming he's still available. Unfortunately, since Jacksonville's offense is the lowest scoring in the NFL, putting up only 14.7 points per game. With that in mind, there's not much upside to Jennings excluding the fact that he is a featured back in the NFL, a rare distinction these days. Jennings will face Detroit's 22nd-ranked rush defense in Week 9, setting him up with a good matchup.
