It's been quite a turnaround for Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon . Just a few days ago, word was the foot that had caused him to miss six of nine games this season is still giving him trouble, and it looked like Garcon was headed for the OR.
But Garcon's foot has responded relatively well to limited practice all week, and head coach Mike Shanahan said Friday he expects Garcon to play against the Eagles this Sunday, barring any setbacks.
Garcon will still be dealing with the pain of his plantar plate tear all season long. Even he said that he'll basically be day-to-day for the rest of the season. But his return would be pretty big for the Redskins' offense, especially quarterback Robert Griffin III, who has been consistently let down by his receivers over the past few weeks. I don't think you can start Garcon in a 12-team league this weekend -- he'll probably be on a very limited snap count as the team works him back in slowly. But if he makes it through the Eagles game no worse for wear, he could definitely be a WR3 during your playoffs.
