Cardinals will not 'overload' RB Beanie Wells versus Rams

Cardinals running back Beanie Wells is raring to get back to NFL action this weekend. He hasn't played in two months because of a severe case of turf toe, but the team activated him off of the injured reserve/designated to return list on Wednesday, and he'll be out there against the Rams on Sunday. Wells is expected to get the start, but head coach Ken Whisenhunt will do his best to manage Wells' carry count.
"I think you got to get a feel for it," Whisenhunt said. "I certainly don't think [Wells] is going to get an overload of work."

Fantasy Analysis:

Wells says he's in shape, but he has always been overly optimistic about his status. That may still be true, but we all know there's a difference between being in shape and being in NFL game shape, which comes only through playing. Wells should get 10-15 touches against the Rams' middle-of-the-road run defense, but LaRod Stephens-Howling @LS_H36 will be on the field for passing downs. Plus, it's Beanie Wells. Even when he's at 100 percent, he's still going to be plodding away, probably averaging less than four yards per carry. He's a mediocre flex play.
