Just when you think Felix Jones ' days in the sun, are nearing an end and Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray is making progress with his sprained foot, owner Jerry Jones comes out and says something like this:
"We can't get a prognosis that another week's rest will do anything," Jones said about Murray after Thursday's loss to the Redskins. "It's all depending on how he pushes off."
Another week's rest would mean that Murray has missed his seventh straight game. But the Cowboys are still holding out hope that he can play Dec. 2 against the Eagles. Murray hasn't taken a snap since Oct. 14.
It looked like we had some sort of grasp on this situation last week when Murray was at least on the practice field doing something. But now it seems we're back to basically square one. You've got to hold on to Murray and hope he can give you something during the fantasy playoffs. We'll give an update on his status when there is one, you can probably move forward with the mindset that Murray won't play in Week 13. Jones will continue to be a low-end RB2/flex option.
