Baltimore Ravens WR Torrey Smith had been held out of practice until Thursday after sustaining a mild concussion last Sunday against the Denver Broncos. The second-year receiver has been quiet in his last three games, only hauling in five catches for 68 yards total. This was Smith's first practice of the week but should be ready to play in Week 16 against the New York Giants, although that is not yet set in stone.
Smith has been a bit up and down all year, which should be expected for a big-play No. 2 receiver on a run-first team. For example, he caught one pass for seven yards in Week 11 and then in his next game he had seven catches for 144 yards. These sorts of wild swings will really hurt you as a fantasy owner because you'll have trouble determining when to start him. Against the Giants, this is a really favorable matchup even though Anquan Boldin has been playing really well recently. Give Smith a chance as a flex.
