Titans running back Chris Johnson toughed it out through Sunday's blowout loss to the Packers despite an ankle injury. Now the question is if he will be around for Week 17 against the Jaguars. All head coach Mike Munchak would say Monday is that Johnson's right ankle is sore. He turned it during the first quarter and returned shortly thereafter. He ended the afternoon with 41 yards from scrimmage on 13 touches.
Yes, he was hurt, but Week 16 represented the seventh game this season in which Johnson rushed for fewer than 50 yards. He has a great matchup in the Jaguars, but the Titans have no reason to overload their gimpy franchise back if he does indeed play.
Johnson had a miserable start to this season, then heated up around midseason before cooling back down in the past month. While he is running better than last season, this year has really been no better, statistically. Johnson should be outside the top 10 of running backs heading into 2013 fantasy drafts.
