Giants GM hints at RB David Wilson's future role

New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese said on Thursday that running back David Wilson @4stillRunning could be the "lead dog" in the backfield in 2013. Two summers ago, Ahmad Bradshaw @AhmadBradshaw signed a four-year deal worth $18 million. There are still two years left on that deal and he would earn $4 million total next season. Bradshaw's persistent injuries definitely come into play here as well as the presence of the reliable Andre Brown @drebrown35 emerging this season. Reese added that Wilson can "go, 80, 90 yards on any touch" and "that he could be an explosive player and he could be a weapon in a lot of ways."

Fantasy Analysis:

Let the hype begin. We have a long way to go until next season but this is something to keep in mind if you plan on following the NFL Draft and inevitable offseason moves. Dynasty owners should be ecstatic to hear this info but ultimately, until head coach Tom Coughlin puts his faith behind the former Virginia Tech back, it's all talk. How will the Giants use Brown if Bradshaw is gone? Can Wilson handle 20-plus touches every week? These are the issues to consider moving forward.
