Seahawks DE Chris Clemons could have torn ACL

The Seattle Seahawks escaped with a narrow victory over the Washington Redskins, but may have lost defensive end Chris Clemons for quite some time. Pro Football Talk is reporting that the team believes Clemons tore his ACL. The 31-year-old leads the team with 11.5 sacks. He will have an MRI done on Monday. He was injured during the third quarter and was not able to return. Results should be conclusive very soon.

Fantasy Analysis:

Not only is Clemons a solid pass-rusher, he performs well against the run. After a hot start, the Redskins fizzled on offense and that is partially due to Clemons. His numbers (two unassisted tackles) certainly did not jump off the page though. Rookie Bruce Irvin @BIrvin_WVU11 will need to step up against Atlanta next week. Providing Matt Ryan @M_Ryan02 with ample time in the pocket would be a serious problem. Irvin finished second on the team with 8.0 sacks, not including one sack of Robert Griffin III @RGIII. The next play after that resulted in Griffin's fumble and re-injury.
