More details have emerged regarding the foot injury that has kept Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch out of practice this week. Off the bat, it sounds alarming as head coach Pete Carroll said Friday that Lynch has a sprained foot. Those have been known to sideline running backs for weeks or months, but Lynch's case must be extremely minor since he returned to practice Friday and is listed as probable on the final injury report.
When I think of a running back with a sprained foot, I think about the likes of DeMarco Murray, Maurice Jones-Drew and Darren McFadden, who missed a bunch of games. Lynch obviously doesn't have a Lisfranc sprain and there doesn't appear to be any worries about his ability to handle his usual load of carries against the Falcons. Lynch remains a good bet to top 100 yards yet again on Sunday.
